About
Hop on the Dodge City Historic Trolley for a trip back to the 1870s. Visit the original locations of the Longbranch Saloon, Gospel Hill, the “deadline”, Front Street and so much more. Tour Fort Dodge, follow the path of the Santa Fe Trail, and learn a few colorful stories along the way. This is a great way to get your bearings with an overview of Dodge City. Then you can plot the rest of your visit by adding those locations pointed out on the tour. The enclosed, air-conditioned trolley departs from the Visitor Information Center seven days a week during peak season (Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day).

The brilliant visitor center advised us to take this tour before anything else and assured us that the early one would be back in time to go to Boot Hill Museum next door for the gunfight.
The tour really was great. The driver (he drove a school bus during term time) was so informative with his live commentary.
In 75 minutes we went round all the usual top sites as well as some we wouldn’t have visited, like old Fort Dodge itself. Interesting that Custer’s name was all over here but the driver said he never visited. Reminded us of all the places on Route 66 that Elvis probably never went to!
Seeing literally thousands of cattle close up, ready to meet their maker, was awe inspiring.
If you have time, do go on this tour first.

My husband and I took the trolley tour in Dodge city; June 2022. I would recommend it highly as we saw many sights we would not have included as we were there to see all the Gunsmoke/Matt Dillon; Boot Hill history. This tour provided us with other Dodge City historical sights. Narrator was informative; trolley was clean and air conditioned. Price is reasonable-$20.00 per two persons 1.5 hour tour.

I truly enjoyed the trip to view the Winter Christmas Lights. An unexpected joy during my winter trip. It really got me in the Christmas Spirit. The little kids were so joyful and spotted every light including pointing out the red and green traffic lights. A great $5.00 expensive.

The tour offers very poor sight lines for people who happen to sit on the left side of the trolley. 95% of the turns provide views to the people on the right. The tour needs to turn the other direction. From the left you would have to look over people or see only the first floor of 3 story buildings.

Great tour! This 1 hour 15-20 minute tour was great. If you couldn’t hear the audio, a booklet you get to keep was provided. The driver was funny, telling us additional information, jokes and fun facts. Highly recommend as it shows you things that you can go back to investigate on your own.

Took 130p tour on Jun 9th & it was John's first time giving tour. He was excellent. The tour in general is very informative, giving info on things besides the usual Wyatt Earp, etc. John also gave backstop on other sites. Recommend if you are in Dodge City.

On the plus side, we enjoyed the trolly ride. But, on the negative side, we were able to see how truly run-down Dodge City is. Historical homes located in neighborhoods were well kept, but the surrounding homes were not. The trolly itself was clean, well air conditioned and reasonably priced. The only complaint I have about the tour is that their recording was very basey and difficult to understand.

We wondered where the smell was coming from when we drove into Dodge City and found out the next day one the trolley tour. There they were thousands of cows in the feed lots just waiting to be turned into hamburger. The tour was enjoyable and informative. Made lots of pictures of historical sites.

No. You are touring areas where there are no facilities. So you have to do your business before you leave.

we will be there this weekend. Where do we go to take this Trolley ride? How much does it cost? How long is the tour?

The Trolley is located in the parking lot of the Boot Hill Museum. I believe that the cost of the trolley is 10.00 dollars. Takes about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. It mostly narrated by a CD. If is worth the ride to see where things are at in case to want to visit some of the sights. This is great if you do not have a lot of time you get to see the highlights of Dodge City.
