OK. I rated this poor because it was closed! Why is it closed on a Monday? Really?! We were on a motorcycle trip to the headwaters of the Mississippi and then riding the Miss. River Road back South. So, this would have been a great stop to go with our trip. Expand your hours!!

After having travelled most of the actual Lewis and Clark route via car, this was a great way to sum up our travels! Kids especially LOVED the place where they could do the "rubbings" of various aspects of the L & C Journey. Several "hands on" activities. The store also had some great stuffed toys-- Seaman, the dog, was a... More

I have young kids and teenagers and all of them enjoy coming here. It's educational and fun. Best part of free! Never gets old.

This is an excellent FREE place to take the kids. The museum is very well-kept and there is a playground outside. Its a great way to spend a couple of hours, especially with school-agers.

...we arrived on a Monday and the center was closed. We were able to explore the outside area. The grounds are well-maintained and relaxing to walk through. The River Museum was open and we were able to explore it thoroughly.

One of the interesting features of this exhibit is the act of helping you understand one of the members of the trip. Art, artifacts, personal history, historical data, and interactive displays (enjoyed by children), are all combined to give you an understanding of the challenges of this great experiment. The grounds are worth a visit as well. Hint: Engage the... More

You are first impressed by the building and grounds as you arrive in the parking area. Both are beautiful and unique. Bronze statues of animals and scattered about the grounds Inside in one of the adjoining buildings, many exhibits are hands on. Using a "journal" one can "sign on" with Lewis and Clark and follow them on the exploration. There... More

This place shows the history of Lewis and Clark and they do it well. Went thru with the kids who are in their teens and it kept them entertained. If you are passing thru the area stop and check it out.
