...we arrived on a Monday and the center was closed. We were able to explore the outside area. The grounds are well-maintained and relaxing to walk through. The River Museum was open and we were able to explore it thoroughly.

One of the interesting features of this exhibit is the act of helping you understand one of the members of the trip. Art, artifacts, personal history, historical data, and interactive displays (enjoyed by children), are all combined to give you an understanding of the challenges of this great experiment. The grounds are worth a visit as well. Hint: Engage the... More

You are first impressed by the building and grounds as you arrive in the parking area. Both are beautiful and unique. Bronze statues of animals and scattered about the grounds Inside in one of the adjoining buildings, many exhibits are hands on. Using a "journal" one can "sign on" with Lewis and Clark and follow them on the exploration. There... More

This place shows the history of Lewis and Clark and they do it well. Went thru with the kids who are in their teens and it kept them entertained. If you are passing thru the area stop and check it out.

They are always adding new things or updating displays. The toud guides for schools are fantastic! They know what they are talking about, can answer questions, and know ho a to relate & talk to kids. It's a must-see for anyone interested in U.S. history.

The center is the tell all center for everything Lewis and Clark. Lot of reading, and some interpretative manikin displays tell you everything from the state of the expedition all the way to the end. Including the death of Sgt Floyd. A must see if you want to learn about these great men and the growth of America.

Many of the displays are designed to engage visitors - particularly kids - in the experiences of the Corps of Discovery. It also had a good exhibit on flooding in the area over the years.

My wife and I visited since this was highly recommended in Trip Advisor. I was a little disappointed frankly. The facility is beautiful and the staff very friendly and helpful but the exhibit was haphazard and in my view did not tell the story very comprehensively or chronologically which is what I was looking for....But, it has numerous interactive learning... This was a pretty nice place. It was in good shape and the guy at the front desk was very helpful. The only *slight complaint that I had was that Sacajawea's eyes weren't painted! :) They have anamatronics for Lewis and Clark, as well as a dog. Everything is interactive. Good place to go with friends or kids.
