I have been coming to Okoboji every summer since I was a kid, but never spent an in-depth time at the Maritime Museum. My husband and I spent over an hour in the museum recently. We both especially enjoyed looking at all the old photos of the area and reading the stories of what life was like in Okoboji back... More

It would be easy to skip over this on your way to Arnold's Park---don't. It's very nifty with great lake vacation history and memories.

Museum is free with an optional donation box. Friendly staff, gift shop. Quite a bit of Arnold's Park memorabilia and some really great boats. Kids with our two families range in age from 5-12 and enjoyed it. One large open room - got through everything in less than 30 minutes. Good stop on way to park area.

Visited the museum during a recent trip to the area. LOVED the old boats, motors and other items from a bygone era. The quality and workmanship of the older built boats was very evident and just beautiful to check out. LOVE the old motors and fishing tackle as well. Very neat collection of area's lake lifestyle items. The lay out... More

My teenage kids were totally bored with it, they are not into history. It was very nicely done, clean and organized.

We went on the Queen 2 boat ride where they talk about one of the boats in this museum so we thought we would give it a try. Very interesting place.

I've been through the museum a few times. It's great to get out of the heat and check things out. The photos of Arnolds Park and the old cabins always amaze me and seeing the photos makes me wish I could have been there years ago. I envision that maybe there were a few places here where some "Dirty Dancing"... More

It's neat to see the old sunken water taxi that they brought up from the bottom and restored. Be sure to spin the wheel for a chance to pilot the paddle wheel boat with free drinks for your friends.

This museum gives a very interesting view of how life in the area was over the years. Lots of beautiful boats and other artifacts. Also has a great gift shop that is not outrageously expensive!
