If you want a short bit of fun, this is the place. Tour was very informative and interesting. The store was very cute. Will recommend for sure.

The bridges are a little wobbly, the pond is a bit murky and the boats are a little dinged-up. Our tour guide was a bright young woman with matter-of-fact tone of voice but a kind-hearted and adventurous sense of whimsy. Lots of clumsy jokes and pranks that fell a bit flat. But this weird attraction, for all its little faults,... More

A quaint, charming local attraction. The stalactite and stalagmite formations in the cave were very pretty. The boat ride into the cave was a neat way of seeing these natural formations. The history of the location was interesting too. It was a very simple attraction but still fun.

...I was there 15 years ago with some of my in-laws. Had a great guide who spoke to us (not away from us) so we could hear about the history of Spook Cave and he had my nephew about ready to climb out of the boat with the story of "Ol' Joe" and other tales of Spook Cave. Had so... More

Sorry to hear your disappointment. We posted your review for staff to read. We are figuring out if it is a boat driving/talking technique issue along with a motivation or energy level issue. If your family remembers the date and time you were here or for sure your tour guides name and would email or call Paula that would assist... More

All the reviews are true except they were expensive for that small trip into that cave. Thought there was going to be a bit more than what actually saw a little upset for being swindled our of the money I gave to them for missing 2 more rooms in the cavern.

We decided to stop on a whim and I'm a really quite glad we did. Our two year old did great on the cave tour and laughed the whole way through. The guide spoke a little too fast but it was still fun. Be sure that you don't go on the tour if you are claustrophobic or extremely tall. I'd... More

We recently spent three nights at Spook Cave Campgrounds. We were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the grounds are. The property is well cared for from the camping spots, lawns, playground, and beach area to the shower house and restrooms. We loved camping next to the wheel house and stream. My four year old son had a great time at... More

Called into spook cave and was greeted warmly by an employee named Tyson. He was very nice and informative. A couple days later i went on a tour given by Hannah. Unfortunately she seemed like she could care less about her job. She seemed rather rude and stuck up. Peyton, the young man who was working in the store showed... More

Your specifics with names are really helpful to improve our service, thanks. Hannah has returned to college at the University of Iowa after completing her 5th season working here, and overall has done a good job. We have forwarded your review to our internal Spook Cave Team Facebook page for all employees to see. We have also discussed it with... More

Nice little ride in the boat the guide had little myths about the place but complained about her job and life most the time. You might end up with a sore back because you have to bend down alot because the cave isn't that big but still really cool to see.

Thanks for the response and I apologize for your tour guides negative attitude. She has moved on with her career to pre-med school at the University of Iowa and no longer works here. More
