What a beautiful Park!! The scenic overlooks are breath taking, the area was very clean and neat (well kept). The worker at the gift shop was very friendly. Overall, a great experience

Was too cold and windy we did not get to spend much time. Observation deck offered great views. Would be nice for a warmer day.
With fabulous views of the Mississippi River, and enough walking paths to allow for a fun afternoon of hiking, this place is a treasure. For those more interested in a picnic lunch than a hike in the woods, Pikes Peak State Park is set up for that, too. Stop for a brief time, or relax for an hour. It's totally...

If you're near the Prairie du Chien area, Pikes Peak State Park is a must see! The view of the Mississippi is absolutely stunning. Take lots of pictures up here!
There are also some hiking trails into the woods worth exploring as there are some Native American mounds and natural formations. There are some longer trails, but we only explored...

We took a long trip with our two dogs and rv from Michigan to Wyoming and back. This campground was average based on where we had stayed for the rest of the trip. Pikes Peak State Park, located right on the Iowa/Wisconsin border, is well maintained and has a beautiful multi-level overlook of the Mississippi River Valley and across the river, Prairie du Chien. There are wood/cement trails to walk into the bluffs that are easy and safe even if you don't have hiking shoes on. No rugged terrain here. A quick stop...

If you are in Northeast Iowa you have to stop at this park! It will take your breathe away. Any pictures you take will be sure to be on your Christmas card.
This place has great views and easily accessible. Nice overlooks the river and walking trails. As far as I know everything there is free. It did look like it has a campground which I'm assuming you have to pay for.
This state park is located along the Mississippi River and affords gorgeous overlooks. There were several boardwalk style hiking trails to a variety of features like Bridal veil Falls ( just a little trickle in the fall), Indian mounds. Camping and picnicking sites are available.
