If you grew up in the era of movie musicals, Broadway musicals, and marching bands then this is a great stop. Very well done "town replica" from the movie set as well as much history on Meredith Wilson and "The Music Man" as well as his many, many other endeavors. If you are traveling on I-35 in North Iowa. Take... More

This was one of those attractions that we didn't even know existed. What a find! Enjoyed the boyhood home and River City's reincarnated Main Street. Didn't have time to watch the video but wish we had. The only disappointment was that some of the interactive gadgets didn't work. Definitely a must see!

You can pretend you are in the movie itself, there's lots to see and do. It's a huge wedding and party venue, deservedly so. You also get to tour the composers childhood home.

This is an excellent attraction that will appeal to all ages. We went there because of positive reviews on Tripadvisor, and we were delighted with every aspect of it. Initially, my husband went just to please me, but he was as delighted as I was by it. The museum square attractively replicates many important sites in the musical and contains... More

Kudos to Mason City for creating this impressive display and museum. And then have the foresight to place it next to his boyhood home. Meredith Willson was a brilliant musician and composer that had an extensive career on stage, in movies and on television. I am sure that most Iowans don't appreciate him as they should, once they attend the... More

This was probably the best $6 I've ever spent on an attraction. I expected something hokey, because they feature false fronts of stores and sites from the movie "Music Man." Instead, my wife and I discovered a wonderful museum, replete with often forgotten musical instruments of the last two centuries, and a compelling history of Mason City native Meredith Willson,... Viewing the streetscape, museum and Meredith Willson's boyhood home with friendly, knowledgeable guides makes for a very enjoyable afternoon. You won't want to have to hurry, so come early. They open at 1:00 every day but Monday.

Great place to see the old way of living and the Music Man museum was fun to visit. The kids enjoyed ice cream from an old school ice cream fountain and we enjoyed the radio broadcasting exhibit.

An air conditioned indoor row of tiny old-fashioned striped boutiques awaits you as you take a break from the summer heat. Cute place, it also accommodates parties and large group functions with fun and ease. Ice cream anyone?

A really nice indoor recreation of the street from the movie, "The Music Man". There's a lot of history about the movie but the emphasis in all the displays is old musical instruments.
