Charming and included information besides that of Music Man-worth a visit. There were both auditory and visuals including videos from people involved in all aspects of the making of the musical. It was comfortably laid out and accessible for anyone at any age.

RAGBRAI 2014 routed us through Mason City for an overnight stop, and someone in the bike club I was traveling with mentioned the theatrical streetscape at Music Man Square. But he didn't know about the other cool stuff there. --Diorama of a gazebo band shell, with a life-sized figure of John Philip Sousa along with an assortment of classic old... More

This museum is fun to explore, especially for people (like me) who love the great American musical. The streetscape of River City offers plenty of photo ops, and the documentary about the movie was interesting. I was also fascinated by the footage of early films that Willson had written the scores for. The fee is reasonable and well worth it.

The trip to River City was fantastic. The guides loved the place. The coverage of Meredith Wilson was outstanding. The museum attached to The Music Man Block was fascinating.

This is a wonderful trip down the streets of River City and the attractions of the Music Man musical. It is helpful to watch the musical before you go in order to sing along with the music of the displays. And don't forget to stop at the ice cream shop in the museum for the best ice cream around. Well... More

The 'trouble' in River City is counting the 'seventy-six trombones' as you sing May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You in this recreation of the musical The Music Man and tribute to its hometown composer, Meredith Wilson.. The interactive displays in the museum are intriguing; and don't skip his boyhood home, included in the minimal admission.

If you grew up in the era of movie musicals, Broadway musicals, and marching bands then this is a great stop. Very well done "town replica" from the movie set as well as much history on Meredith Wilson and "The Music Man" as well as his many, many other endeavors. If you are traveling on I-35 in North Iowa. Take... More

This was one of those attractions that we didn't even know existed. What a find! Enjoyed the boyhood home and River City's reincarnated Main Street. Didn't have time to watch the video but wish we had. The only disappointment was that some of the interactive gadgets didn't work. Definitely a must see!

You can pretend you are in the movie itself, there's lots to see and do. It's a huge wedding and party venue, deservedly so. You also get to tour the composers childhood home.
