Conveniently located at McBride Hall on the University of Iowa Campus, the Museum of Natural History was small but complete. We particularly liked the mammal and aviary taxidermy exhibits.

The museum of Natural History on the University of Iowa Campus is an amazing surprise. Although small it has a quality collection that is exceptionally well displayed.

Been going there since my childhood. Took my kids there, and now the grandkids. Small, and quaint; but the kids really like it.

We stopped for a visit at the museum on Feb. 23. We enjoyed all the history on Iowa. We particularly enjoyed the Native American displays showing the arrow heads, tools, and types of shelters they lived in. We also liked the fossils. The Model of the Giant Sloth was really cool. We went up to the 3rd floor and checked... More

Every family should visit & check out the exhibits & historic items! Allow plenty of time to study & look at things. Be sure to check out The Old Capital, & the gift shop. Free color books & educational info. Great for Homeschoolers.
