I had some time to kill in Iowa City while I waited for an evening flight back home. I went up to the campus and found two nice - and free - museums. I enjoyed wandering through the Museum of Natural History and the Old Capitol Museum. The little part of campus that I saw was very clean and nice.

The UI is one of the smaller "Big Ten" universities, which means its campus is not as sprawling as many. It abuts downtown Iowa City which makes for a seamless transition. The Pentacrest is the central university focus with the Old State Capitol in the middle of the five-building area. It has all the usual athletic attractions and a few... More

If you need dental care, here is where to go. Just need to go sign up. You get excellent care and the prices are totally reasonable. I had dentures made there and paid less than half of what dentists in Fort Madison/Burlington would have charged me [just example, have many]. Customer service, students, instructors are all helpful, pleasant, and professional.

While you are on campus pop into some of the historic pentarest buildings. Then head down the hill to the Iowa Memorial Union to the newly renovated basement area. The food in the food court here is actually pretty great-I recommend the chicken stirfry!

Quaint and quiet B and B with wonderful breakfasts. Daissy Owen the owner is a great hostess and a seasoned traveler. I would recommend this to anyone coming for sporting events, visiting the campus, etc.

I was visiting the university.where a grandma you have a beautiful city. My biggest issue is parking. Seems there is very little parking for people with disabilities. And charging $ 24/7.you have students @ the schools that need to have vehicles These young adults are paying big $ to go to your beautiful city. But for elderly, and disability your parking... More

I attended this university from 2010-2014. I think it's a fairly picturesque university, with interesting buildings. The university is in downtown Iowa City, so there is plenty to do there (shopping and food), also, you can definitely catch a sporting event, of course while it's still in season.

Attractive campus, very pedestrian friendly. For a visit, see the old Capitol. A spectacular old structure, and very impressive inside. A nice piece of history. The campus is not as attractive as say Duke or Univ of Washington or some others, but still has a charm all its own.
