Taking a ride on the Mississippi river was one of the things that we did while on vacation with two grandchildren. It was the most expensive attraction that we did and provided the least enjoyment. While Dubuque is an interesting city with many fine things to do, unfortunately, it does not have a scenic waterfront. There are some interesting homes,... more

The only good that came out of my wedding on the Miss Dubuque was a boat ride and the appetizers. They messed up my music during the ceremony even after I told them how to do it just minutes before....didn't have any decorations, no vacuuming, no linens on the tables an hour before boarding time....Manager is bossy-told us we can't... more

3 couples took the American Lady Happy Hour Cruise from the Dubuque Yacht Basin and Catfish Charlie's Restaurant. Beautiful boat, plenty of room, $13 per person includes tap beer, soft drinks and appetizers (wings), 1 1/2 hr river cruise. Seating available inside and outside. Scenic and a great value. more

When we booked our trip we were told that the boat departs at 11:30AM and we should arrive at 11:00AM. We got there at 10:45AM and were told that the departure time was not until 12:00PM. Once we boarded we did not depart until around 1:00PM, because we had to wait for a bus load of passengers who were running... more

This was a good thing to do on our trip. The scenery was really nice, and you learned a lot. We saw a lot of wildlife, and someone said they saw an eagle too. I especially liked seeing the big houses up on the bluffs overlooking the river. __ more

My husband, 70 year old mom and myself took the trip in August 2006. Food was great, secenery was beautiful. We had a really good time and would recommend this cruise to anyone. We will remember this trip for a long time and it holds special memories for me as we found out my mom had lung cancer and died... more

We really enjoy any of the Dubuque Riverboat trips. They are relaxing with good entertainment and a very knowledgeable captain about the area. We take a trip on one of these boats at least once or twice a year. more

We took the afternoon sightseeing cruise. Up the Mississippi to above the Hwy 61 Bridge and back down the river to south of the Hwy 20 Bridge. Relaxing, fun time with authentic narration and explanations. Probably not for little kids, but fine for adults. The second deck was a bit weather-beaten but overall the trip was worth the money. Ticket... more

Went on the riverboat ride with the kids. It was a nice way to spend a relaxing afternoon but the kids were bored silly. 1 1/2 hours is just too long for them to sit. They aren't interested in what the narrator had to say and there wasn't anything to do on the boat. You can't take any food or... more

After viewing the Dubuque River Rides website, my husband and I thought it would be a nice, romantic boat ride up the Mississippi River. For $45/person, to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. We were ushered onto a giant paddleboat and seated with 10 other random people. Instead of my husband and I being seated across from each... more
