Our group of nine took the 11:30 am brunch cruise on Mother's Day to celebrate Grandma's 88th Birthday. We made reservations a few weeks in advance. The cruise company asked if we were celebrating any special occassions. They arranged for a birthday cake to be brought to our table after we ate. Chuck, the gentleman providing musical entertainment during the... More

We were unable to understand the narrator at all. He mumbled the entire time and we missed learning about the area, which was what we had hoped for by taking this hour a half cruise. Even positioning myself under the speaker did not help! More

Made reservations online several weeks in advance for a Friday afternoon 90-minute Eco and Historic Cruise on the Spirit of Dubuque as part of our out-of-town anniversary travel. We arrived in Dubuque about three hours before boarding time. We ate lunch at the Ice Harbor Restaurant, walked along the Mississippi River, browsed the museum gift shop, wandered around the casino,... More

This was a neat experience. We have done it twice now. For around $20-25 or less per person you can get a nice 1-2 hour cruise on a actual paddle wheel boat. The Spirit of Dubuque has real wheel that drives the boat. The narration tells about the river, the scenery, and even some tell tale fishing stories (folklore). Grab... More

Wow. Never have I had a worse experience. Our reservations were changed without a phone call from the business. When we were finally able to take a ride, the food was awful...congealed and cold. We were put on a chartered boat that only had 4 open seats without anyone warning us or giving us a choice. We were in the... More

Simple, yet seeing the Mississippi from the water is so different than standing on land and looking at it! The leaves changing on both sides of the bluff leave you breathless!!! To see the lock and dam where the eagles soar above at Eagle Point Park is amazing! The silence and Serenity that the river brings to you is indescribable.... More

My fiance and I visited with the owner, Nancy Webster, and toured both boats as an option for our wedding venue. She was rude. She did not walk up the last ramp to greet us, and yelled at us when stepping over the entrance chain. She did not even introduce herself and ask us our names or look us in... More

Not an elegant ship by any means, but comfortable with a great presentation on the history of Dubuque and the Mississippi River. Relaxing, a good value. More
