My wife and I found this cruise on a billboard on Route 20 while heading over to see Effigy Mounds. It was a spontaneous decision to take the cruise and we were lucky enough to get tickets last minute. Very relaxing and peaceful with wonderful scenery. The meal served onboard was very good and there was plenty of food with... More

We had 25 motorcyclists take the 11:30am Saturday cruise that was supposed to include a "deluxe lunch" for $43.20 a person with the tax. They don't offer senior, AARP, or veterans discounts, as we asked. We boarded a paddle wheel boat that had two decks. The inside, lower deck was for those of us who paid for the lunch and... More

There are various cruises, sightseeing only, dinner, hot lunch, cold lunch. I took a 2-hour cruise on a Sunday in August. You could pay just for the cruise, sitting upstairs with access to snack and drink service, or could pay for lunch as well. The lunch was fairly basic, build-it-yourself sandwiches, potato salad, coleslaw, cookies, nonalcoholic drinks, in the lower... More

We went on this boat ride at the suggestion of a family member who lives in the area. We sat in the enclosed downstairs because there were several families with young children who all ran up the steps to the top...we wanted to be able to hear what the captain said as he narrated our cruise. It was ok....but that... More

My wife and I went on the Sunset River Cruise and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food (prime rib, chicken, green bean casserole, coleslaw, manicotti, etc and dessert) was excellent and it was buffet style so you have as much as you want. There is a bar on the top open deck as well as the bottom deck (enclosed) if you... More

The boat is in okay condition, but you aren't there to cruise. You are there to learn about the history and enjoy the views from the water! It is a long ride in both directions. There's a snack bar to purchase drinks and light food items. The first floor has very nice accommodations with nice restrooms and A/C. But give... More

My husband and I enjoyed the lunch cruise. The captain gave an interesting narrative, although it definitely sounded like he was just reading a script most of the time. The deli lunch was good.

We did the 90 minute sightseeing cruise and found it relaxing and enjoyable. The info shared by the captain was interesting.

Very exciting cruise on the mighty Mississippi River with beautiful scenery all over. Many bridges and structures along the way. The Captain explains everything related to the area with great detail. There is a concession stand, bar and rest rooms. The paddle wheels are unique, providing smooth transportation over the water. You can move freely on the boat. The upper... More

I had mixed feelings about my boat trip yesterday in Dubuque. The scenery was beautiful, but the narration was boring. The capt. doing it must have done it a million times before because it sounds like he is bored to death. It is too bad they don't get a recording of the sights and then they could just play it....
