This was our kids first time skiing. We bought a Groupon and sign them up for a lesson and keys. The instructors were very friendly and helpful. We were then able to convert the pass to a all lift pass for the kids for a small fee. They had a great time. We did have lunch on site. It is... More

Took my 9 year old for his first time snowboarding and my first time skiing in a long time. We got the beginner package via Groupon. Our instructors were patient and very helpful. Lessons lasted 90 minutes and worked in fundamentals. Having a chair lift on the beginning hill is also great practice.

Sundown Mountain is a wonderful place to learn to ski. I had always wanted to learn to downhill ski and had an opportunity to go take my very first ski lesson. My ski instructor was Chuck Whalen and I would highly recommend him. He was patient, calm, very knowledgeable and did a wonderful job in helping understand what I needed... More

Compared to other similar sized ski/snowboard hills this is great. Good man made snow - not icy. Friendly staff that does a good job keeping it a fun environment - you didn't have a bunch of kids making fun of people who fall or swearing and smoking on the hill. The black diamonds are more like blues in my opinion... More

If your an inexperienced skier I recommend coming here before investing in a trip to Colorado, I wish I had. Our son hadn't skied before and took a full day lesson in the kid zone. Tony was amazing and had him skiing down the full runs by the end of the day. They had a true beginner slope to learn... More

Sundown mountain is a great place to learn to ski and also practice skiing for the more experienced skier. The staff of instructors are all very friendly and knowledgeable. We take a group there every year and are always treated so well. Everyone that attends learns a little something different to improve their skiing abilities.

Mark has done excellent work in making the runs and supporting structures even better than they were before he took the reigns. Well done, young Mr. Gordon!!

I attended a recent event at Sundown Mountain and our party was to have the entire south lodge. Upon arrival it appears that the hospitality department double booked because another party was setting up in the basement. The lodge itself is rustic which doesn't bother me but the bathroom was more primitive than rustic. I've hit the slopes at Sundown... More

You don't need to be a skier to find this a place worth visiting. During ski season the lodge is warm and offers a great variety of quick food for lunch. Grab a hamburger and coffee and pull up a chair to watch the skiers zip past or the bluffs (bring some binoculars) for deer. Don't be too surprised to... More
