My kids took the SkiWee program their first time, ages 9,7,4. The next time only our 4 year old took the lesson. They did a good job teaching the kids the basics on and off the carpets and lifts so they were able to go on their own the next time. Lodges could use some updating. More

They had a very good base of man made snow. There was very little natural snow. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overnight free ski storage was very nice. Chair-lift staff were helpful, but staff needed to add snow on ramp to the chairs. January special could be extended to February. Did a good job of over night grooming. More

The lifts are fast and there are several. The hills are groomed regularly and usually have quite a good base, so skiing is possible even when there isn't much snowfall. Good mix of snowboarders and traditional skiers. They have a half pipe and other fixed thrills for those who want to try that. There are rentals skis available and they... More

I love skiing out West in the mountains, but for a local midwest ski experience, this is good. More

They maintain this very well. They work well training anyone who has not yet learned how to go down a hill. Great for snowboarders and skis. More

To preface this review, I should say that Sundown was my first skiing experience, and as such I have absolutely nothing to compare it to. It may be the best ski hill ever, or it may be lousy; I really wouldn't know. But I had a pretty good time there, so 4 stars seemed appropriate. Some pluses were the reasonable-seeming... More

Fun winter activity in the Midwest. Can't beat the price of admission and rental fee for less than $40! If you are an experienced skiier and more familiar with east/west coast moutains this may leave you a bit disappointed, but you can't beat an enjoyable afternoon and fresh air on the slopes! More

Went to Sundown for a weekend of skiing 2/14 & 2/15/09. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Sundown. It had snowed the night before we skied (driving in it is another story), so we had fresh powder Saturday. The resort has a nice diversity of trails - everything from double diamonds to beginner trails with 2 terrain parks (beginner and... More

We went to Sundown Mountain a few days after Christmas. It never felt overcrowded and the staff was friendly. It's certainly not Colorado, but considering it's the Midwest, it's very nice for a day, evening ski or weekend getaway at reasonable prices. If you've never skied, it's a great place to learn. We are not the most athletic bunch, but... More
