Thought this visitor center was just a place to pick up hotel brochures, restaurant information and attractions in the area. It was far more than that. Lots of memoribilia on President Grant, his wife, children and grandchildren. Very well down.

We contacted this group prior to our visit and they provided visitor guides for activities available. Printed materials were attractive and informative. We visited the center (which is close to the National Mississippi River Museum) while we were in Dubuque to pick up additional information.

We couldn't find anywhere that sells Trapestine carmels in town so we stopped here. They do have a small selection of the carmels for sale. These are the best carmels I have ever eaten.

We found this to be a helpful place to visit for information about things to see & do while in Dubuque. All of our questions were answered by a lady who had grown up here. In addition to clean restrooms, the center had lots of gifts, books & wines from the area.

Stopped by on day one to get some maps and brochures. The office is situated on Main Street with parking right across the street. The woman manning the desk was friendly and helpful. It really helps to make your visit more stress free to get the info you need before going off on a wild goose chase!

A wide selection of area information is available here. The staff was helpful. We only wished that the brochures where organized a bit more clearly.

We were in Dubuque for two days. Upon our arrival, our first stop was the Visitor Center in order to have some questions answered and to pick up some maps. I think we would have been hopelessly lost on a number of occasions without the maps. There are lots of one-way streets in the city and the roads in the... More

Stopped in here for a map and left with loads of information and booklets. The ladies were helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. They inquired where we were from and then told us of their visits to Ireland to visit their grandparents towns. This is a must visit stop as they have all the info you need.
