We spent the morning wandering around these lovely gardens! It's small enough to be able to see it all, yet filled with many varieties, colors, etc. if I lived in Dubuque I would spend my lunch hours in this lovely peaceful place surrounded by its beauty! We did think that there was a cafe there for us to eat lunch...but... More

This is place is so much bigger than we remembered from 20 years ago :) Lovely gardens, so peaceful. Especially enjoyed the rose garden and the playground for the kids.

This is a small and underdeveloped property, but I think it will get better and better as time goes on and funds become more available. It was clean and well-kept, and they have a good start for many of the gardens. The price is right . . . FREE!

We traveled August 3rd and the gardens were in full bloom. Good photo opportunities. Stop in and enjoy. It's not far from the Hotel Julien.

We saw the many varieties of flowers, and walked around in the quiet surroundings. It was a beautiful place and worth seeing.

If you want to take a leisurely stroll or just find a spot or two to sit and enjoy the surroundings amongst a very nice (and free) garden and park in the Midwest, then please visit Marshal Park and Dubuque Arboretum. Located on what used to the be the outskirts of Dubuque, the park is large enough to not feel... More

The large variety of plants and flowers within the gardens is impressive! It is well cared for, and you can tell the people who upkeep the grounds are proud of this place. It's a perfect place if you are looking to have special pictures taken (senior, wedding, engagement, family). It can be a peaceful place to read and relax.

The ladies in the center (volunteers) were extremely helpful and delightful to talk with. Lots of trails to walk and enjoy the japanese gardens with koi pond, herb garden and rose gardens. Started with local man donating 51 acres and 8 volunters back in 1980's. Numerous volunteers help to maintain the gardens.

Well maintained gardens. Went early Sunday and had the place to ourselves. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the view. There was a playground and bathrooms by the gardens. Free admission made it even better. Tons of parking.

Very beautiful outdoor area and it is free. Be prepared to walk if you want to see the best parts like the waterfall and bridges. Pack a lunch and eat in one of the park picnic areas. Beautiful spot for outdoor wedding!
