I love visiting zoos in any city I visit. Blank Park Zoo was nice and clean, and my favorite part was the children's petting zoo area (my husband's least favorite due to the germs). I had no problem forking over $5 to feed baby goats, other furry animals, and the fish. Great place to visit.

Really nice small zoo. All of the enclosures and animals seemed well taken care off. Kids keep asking when we can go back.

This isn't a bad zoo. Lots of stuff to see, especially the cool Amazon rain pool. But the Omaha Zoo and Minnesota Zoo are 3 hours or less from Des Moines and are MUUUUUUCH better. But for DSM, this is great for the kiddos.

Went to the zoo's Nite Eyes Halloween event. Well managed from advance ticket purchasing, parking assistance, courteous staff to a well planned event. Lots of things to do and see at night during this Halloween fun filled evening. Lots of fun photo op opportunities, memories will be made.

I have 2 young kids so the size of the zoo is manageable to see everything in a day and not having tired cranky kids at the end. The animals were all up close to the fences pretty well so you could see them well and interact. The grounds were nice and clean and they had spots to picnic so... More

I've done a lot to improve and expand this zoo over the years, and it has grown to be a very nice attraction in Des Moines. However, because the Omaha Zoo is roughly 2 hours from Des Moines, I think they lose a lot of business to them. Regardless, this zoo is amazing for small children. They have even begun... More

Went for Zoo Brew. It was ok ... but I used to live in Omaha and have visited San Diego, and Phoenix Zoo's, so to me it was very unimpressive.

Made our first trip to the Blank Park Zoo to celebrate a birthday and enjoy its Halloween bash. A very nice zoo, well cared for and many more animals than I expected. I have been to Zoos all over the world and this zoo is perfect for a city this size. It seems to be designed for younger children, but... More

It is a smaller zoo but still has great animals! The staff was friendly and helpful. Our whole family of 5 greatly enjoyed this zoo. Very reasonable price!

Small zoo with a clean fun atmosphere for any age Feeding zoo within was fun too. Hot days could always be a rough time for the animals.
