A wide variety of animals are housed in natural settings at this 22-acre, relatively small zoo, dedicated to caring for the over 800 animals, educating the public about different species, and generating fun experiences for children, such as crawling through simulated prairie dog tunnels and feeding, petting and riding animals.

This is a nice zoo for its size.

This is a nice zoo for its size. It is especially suited for families with young children as there is a lot for them to experience and see. It is a nice way to spend a few hours.

My husband and I took our 16 month old to Blank Park Zoo on memorial day weekend. The parking made it seem like it was going to be very very busy however, when we got inside it didn't seem busy or overly crowded. There are quite a bit of variety of animals... compared to large zoos yeah... not nearly as... More

We love our zoo. It just keeps growing and improving. We are zoo members and go regularly year round. There are many benefits to membership as you get to know the animals and zookeepers, get invitations to special events and discounts.

Good zoo for the size of the town, not crowded, lots of things for the kids to do, lots of animals, and fun for adults.

I found some interesting animals that I had not seen at other zoos. As you enter the zoo you get to walk through enclosed area but have the birds under your feet. Then you walk out to some other animals that are out and about. Its not that big but I feel it was just the right size to get... More

I wasn't impressed with the zoo. It was ok for a small zoo but I grew up going to the Columbus Zoo (Ohio) so I was expecting more.

Living in Des Moines with small children I have been to the zoo many times. It's a decent zoo to kill a few hours or so but nothing compared to say Omaha Zoo. The food is very overpriced and the "food court" is crowded and complete chaos. You also have to defend your food from the birds. They were very... More

Love this Zoo, great lay out, interesting animals and activities. They have fun extra events on Halloween, Easter and other holidays. Not the largest zoo, but definitely a lot of fun for families. They have a playground and petting zoo for young children. There are a lot of extra activities for children to do through out the park.

This zoo may seem small to seasoned zoo trekkers, but this zoo is a great value and visit for any family who wants to see a bulk of what is great in zoos. This zoo has great paths that equate out to a fluid way of getting around easily. There exists a large area where one can pet lammas, goats,... More
