This zoo is smaller than your large cities but, the price is reasonable and there are lots of animals to enjoy and pet. (some of them.) It is a nice place to spend a day with your family.

This is the smallest zoo I have ever been to! Toured entire zoo in 2 hours! Had very few African animals. Not much variety at all. Best part was kangaroo exibit.

Went because family had a pass that allowed us to get in free. Good for this kids I guess, maybe especially if you have a pass, train is free on Mondays, I believe. I thought it rather small, just ok in terms of animals and exhibits. Maybe I'm just spoiled by Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, which is always great,... More

We decided to stop by this zoo while waiting for our flight back home since it was only a $6 cab ride from the airport. Although it wasn't a very big zoo we still enjoyed it. They had a balance of indoor and outdoor exhibits for us to enjoy since many of the outdoor animals were off exhibit due to... More

We always enjoy our trip to the zoo. It is not too big, and not too small. All in all, It is a great place to spend an afternoon with the grandkids.

We stopped by thinking we wouldnt see much because it is march and its chilly in iowa. The zoo does a great job of bringing animals in so you can still enjoy the zoo experiance. Everything is VERY clean and very nice set up. Nice little zoo not expensive we really enjoyed it.

We love to visit new zoos and we had not been to this one since moving to the state of Iowa. I noticed a groupon for this zoo and got it. It required we use before Feb. 28th so our first visit would be a winter visit. We waited for a nice day. In fact, it was almost 50 degrees... More

I feel that the Blank Park Zoo does a great job serving a city the size of Des Moines. Anyone going to the zoo should not expect a Omaha zoo or the St. Louis Zoo, but they have some great animals and some great exhibits! One of the best things they do is Zoo Brew, this takes place pretty regularly... More

We really enjoy the Blank Park Zoo. They have really upgraded the attractions and diversity of animals. We recently became members and love the discounts they offer on classes and camps for our son. We are really looking forward to the new Africa area once it is completed.

Well, red pandas! BPZ give visitors a big punch for their dollar for a mid-sized zoo. The zoo isn't huge, but fills an afternoon with great animals and exhibits. More than enough to enjoy and not get bored. They also have great events throughout the year, like Zoo Brew and Night Eyes.
