Fun night with friends!

Pub atmosphere. Food was average. Fish and chips were kind of greasy. Scotch egg was large but not that good. Kind of disappointing.

6 of us ate here before walking to Escape Chambers. Everything downtown was packed due to a 5K and the Lion King, but we got a large booth just inside the door. 3 of us had fish & chips, which they said was salty but good. 2 had clubs or other sandwiches, which were rather unremarkable. I had the Guinness... More

Watch your favorite game and enjoy a pub style that is as near authentic as you will get outside Europe. I enjoy the Scotch Eggs while having a pint.

This was our second stop on for 2014 New Years, and it was a good choice. It had a nice, European pub feel and very good choice of whiskeys. Also, the playlist on the sound system of the bar was VERY good.

This is my favorite pub in Des Moines. Excellent food, great beer selection and a huge Scotch menu. A great place to go for lunch or after work.

We found the Mile High pub a good Experience. I tried the ola dubh a strong full flavor dark ale I enjoyed with the fish and chips my husband had the meat pie which was also a good choice. The staff was friendly and the meal was served quickly . I will revisit this pub the next time I'm in... More

I've eaten at the Royal Mile 3 times usually when passing through Des Moines to get to Minneapolis. It's always a fun place to stop for a great English meal and English beer. Last time I had the roast beef dinner and the meat was so tender and juicy. We ate upstairs at the Red Monk because it was very... More

Loved this little English pub. Great selection of British beers on tap. Bartender was very courteous and prompt. This seems to be a big college hangout. Glad to see the college students are drinking good beer. Wish I had time to visit the Belgian beer bar upstairs. Looked like they had some wonderful Belgians on tap as well.

My favorite place to drink in Des Moines. Go upstairs to the Red Monk for great Belgian beer.

Best pub this side of the Atlantic. A couple of pints of London Pride were delicious as was the steak and Guinness pie. Others dined and drank outside. Big selection of beer including many Belgian brews. Next time I will try their chicken and leek pasty. My only complaint is that they are too far from home.
