A long shady trail ambling beside Walnut Creek. Great for biking or walking. There are random play ground areas to take a break. Or just stop at the side of the creek and dip your toes. A lovely nature retreat in the middle of suburban homes

We used to go there when it first opened. You just had to be careful of the bucks that you encountered on the path so they wouldn't gore you. We quit going there after the gay murder where the guy got stabbed 35 times behind his business on the trail when he tried fending off a gay attacker's advances.

This trail makes you feel like you're in the woods, but right in the middle of the city. Easy, flat terrain.

There are a lot of bikers, walkers and runners these days and the Clive Greenbelt is popular, almost too popular! Most people are respectful and courteous on the trail and there is great scenery to view. Enjoy!

You can often see deer along the trail. Especially near sunset. Sometimes, turkey. When in town, I like to go here. Path is generally well maintained and runs alongside a creek. It runs under street bridges and there are some pedestrian bridges across the creek. Many people use this trail to commute via bicycle all over town. It links up... More

Close to our home. Well maintained bike trail that connects to downtown Des Moines to the east and Raccoon River Trail to the west.

Well marked, maintained, wooded urban trail linked to 500 miles in the surrounding communities and rural areas. Very enjoyable with very few street crossings. There are occasional city parks with facilities along the trail. Deer sightings are not uncommon. Enjoy!

Nothing about this trail is disappointing. It has curves, lots of shade, small hills and you just would not know you are in the city. Small streams of water, wildlife and the hustle & bustle not far away. You can pop up off the trail and find food, drink, parks, pretty much anything!

My family just bought bikes and a trailer to explore the bike trails and wow have I been impressed. They are well maintained and I love the shade and the wildlife that makes you feel like you "escape" for a while!

Meandering trail along Walnut Creek. In and out of the sun/shade with plenty of places to jump and in and out of the trail. Playgrounds for kids and a couple of bars on the far east end of the trail for adults.
