The sculpture park in downtown Des Moines is a nice surprise and asset to the area. The chic urban park provides a nice diversion from the typical downtown buildings. The green space and sculptures break up the monotony of buildings constructed up to the right of way and provide an attractive area. The park is a nice gift to the... More

Well worth a visit, be sure to pick up a 'map' of each sculpture which will guide you through the artist, where he/she is from and the name of the sculpture. The box for the maps is located on the Northeast corner of the park. If there are none located there, the Des Moines Art Center also have these maps... More

We weren't expecting much as we decided to swing by here since we were driving through. There is this prism thing in the middle that was cool. Also on the far corner of the park is an old car shop full of old American antiques that still ride.

The debris looks like it belongs in a scrap iron yard. i can't believe that someone would pay for that junk. There's a sucker born every moment I guess.

The sculpture garden is filled with many modern art sculptures that you would not expect to see together in an open area in downtown Des Moines. We are talking about art work made by artists like de Kooning. Nicely maintained and clean- a nice place for a stroll and to get outside

I loved this place. The sculptures were amazing. They were like the best toppings a pizza could have. I do not know where this Pappajohn name cam from in the park but as much as I love Pappajohn's pizzas I loved this place. I was on my way back from Wisconsin to Missouri, and I was in a hurry as... Easy to find, free, world-class art... what's not to like? The sculptures in this park are world-class, ranging from heroic scale to the more personal, and from "serious art" to the whimsical and fantastic. The park is attractively arranged, and the works are placed into an easily accessible, well-proportioned public space that is handicapped accessible and easily walked. The security... More

If you are familiar with sculpture artists, you will be pleased to know that some of the more famous artists are represented here. If you don't know sculpture this is a beautiful park, it's interesting and free. There is also a number to call on your cell to give you a guided tour. Great way to spend time outdoors downtown

The Pappajohn Sculpture Park is a beautiful place to visit and take pictures. It's wonderful! The evening we were downtown there were families, couples, and friends walking around looking at the sculptures. We have taken our two boys there and they loved it. It is really art at your fingertips!

Every time you drive/walk by you notice something different - the angles, lighting, etc. I love how there is enough room and nothing seems crowded. All the sculptures aren't my favs but there is something for everyone.
