We love to visit the sculpture park - it's one of my favorite places in Des Moines. It's a great opportunity to expose the kids to art, and let them run and have fun. Anytime we have out of town visitors , we take them here. Free, thought-provoking, and scenic in its downtown setting.

Artwork is interesting and varied, but limited parking. It looks varied at different times of the day when light hits the pieces at different angles.

The sculpture park is a must see and do in Des Moines. You can walk through the park in the Western Gateway of downtown Des Moines. Lots of great modern artists's works are permanently displayed. It is next to the library and several restaurants.

Coming from St. Louis, I had to stop by Des Moines' Sculpture Park. I haven't spent a lot of time exploring St. Louis CityGarden but must say that I think this park may come in ahead. I really enjoyed the variety of the sculptures and the layout of the park.

Neat sculpture art with a wide variety. Everyone will find at least one that they like. If you are not an art affeciatnado, then you can take silly pictures.

Who would have thought that in the middle of this corn mecca city capitol? Pappajohn family invested in Des Moines, but it didn't take shape with just this park. This park is a proving ground that Des Moines has much to show off and unveil in it's city pride. This actual block used to be a collection of empty warehouses... More

Enjoyed strolling thru this park and taking photographs and reading / hearing about the different sculptors. Definitely a place to visit and spend some downtime.

What a great couple are the Pappajohns for donating their outdoor sculptures to the city. This is a cool place to walk, picnic, and take pictures as well as show out-of-town guests.
