What a gem. I was not expecting a whole lot. We just went to spend some time with our granddaughter (10 years old) from Arizona. So many interactive exhibits she thoroughly enjoyed it. We did to. The staff were so friendly. We were asked by more than one member of on several occasions if there was anything they could help... More

Great place to learn of Iowa sporting history. A Little dull for the younger children we wee with. The museum curator obviously doesn't have children as he was not understanding of their level of energy and enthusiasm. Don't touch anything when he is around.

We stopped expecting a "who's who" exhibit of famous Iowans. It is that... but so much more. There are interactive stations covering many fields of endeavor including sports, athletics, farming, medicine, music, and hollywood. We thought we would spend an hour or less but spent more than two. Worth seeing.

Every Iowan needs to make a trip to Des Moines and go through the Iowa Hall of Pride. I learned about people I didn't know had roots in Iowa and reminisced about those I knew. It's a great experience for families and people of all ages. I was very proud of being an Iowan when I walked out of there.

My husband and I were hired by a well-known real estate company to take professional photos at their holiday party. We had taken them for that company every few years at different locations, but this was the first at the Iowa Hall of Pride. The people we interacted with before, during and immediately after the event who work for the... More
