Having heard about Seed Savers, we made the trek north of Decorah. We started at the visitor's center. The staff at the center was more interested in packing t-shirts than serving visitors and despite seeing us come in, never spoke. We looked around the visitor center, took a map and took off to walk around. The walk-about is worth the... More

Seed Savers is a definite must stop for people interested in sustainable agriculture/gardening. The garden beds are a delight to explore; I came away with several good ideas I plan to institute in my gardens next summer! We also had fun feeding the geese dandelion greens. The store is full of wonderful packets of seeds, as well as other gardening... More

Fascinating facility based on a needed and important concept - to save heritage seeds and plants. The friendly staff helped me find the right seeds for a friend. We wandered the extensive, well kept grounds at our leisure.

Had heard of the Seed Savers Exchange's stewardship efforts, and thought it would be worthwhile to see the farm. The welcome center offers an array of specialty and heirloom seeds. What is fascinating is seeing the raised bed plots of flowers and veggie plants. They also highlighted how they rebounded from a flash flood earlier in the summer that caused... More

Love this place! The various activities they hold throughout the year are really superb and we love visiting in the spring to buy our garden plants. Some of them don't always come up though so I will warn people of that!

I've wanted to visit Seed Savers for years! and I finally did! We went on July 5th and it was a relatively quiet day at the farm - we had a nice walk around, spent a few dollars at the gift shop, and ate the picnic lunch that we brought. I recommend a picnic at Seed Savers!

If you're in Decorah, don't miss this! The gardens are lovely, the White Park ancient cattle are wonderful, the trails are beautiful, and the opportunity to buy really unusual seeds is terrific. This is a great non-profit and I really enjoy spending time there and supporting them with my purchases.

This place is worth a stop when you're in the Decorah area. It's a wonderful place to learn about the art and science of seed saving, a practice not well known to many of us city dwellers. Walk through the vegetable and flower gardens to see plant varieties you've not seen before. Visit the heirloom chicken and geese and feed... More

On a rainy morning we almost skipped this stop on our rv trip. This was a favorite, interesting story, essential seeds saved, direct link to Norway, a lovely garden and tremendous store. We walked the grounds, photographed everything we could to show our friends and shopped at the store for seeds and souvenirs. We now receive their catalog and only... More
