It is a very new, large building with many great exhibits. There was even a Chagall! A lot by Grant Wood, of American Gothic fame. I thought this industrial city on the Mississippi would be void of art but was very pleasantly surprised.

I've been 6th 5th is museum several times and it is breathtaking from the outside and open and beautiful on the inside. Their permanent collection holds art from Haiti, John Deere's collection and more. The rotating exhibits are interesting and change regularly. In addition, the museum holds many special events and if you reserve a spot you can enjoy the... More

The building is beautiful and spacious. It has interesting displays. If you are looking for a different gift, the gift shop has some very excellent items for all ages.

This is such a nice museum. They have great exhibits. I'm really into textiles and they've had great exhibits. The architecture is beautiful, I've also been here for a wedding and it's great.

This museum makes a legitimate effort. If you're expecting the Met or MoMA you will be disappointed. The building was built for exhibit and was a great choice. A large area is designated for the university art students, its ok... felt like filler. The fine art area was excellent. I suggest going, but have realistic expectation for where its located.

We live here and have only been once. It's ok, but a little pricey, I've been in much better art museums for less or free.

Wow. Blown away by the variety and quality of the exhibits at the Figge. Right now there is a textile exhibit that is exquisite. The University of Iowa collection is full of gems, including local artists and even Wright designs. Cute gift shop too. The building itself is modern and offers expansive views of the Mississippi. Only thing missing is... More

I recently visited thevFigge Museum in Davenport Iowa. The frozen forest exhibit is absolutely stunning and the views from the top floor are second to none in the city! I visited this alone and expected to be outside within 15 minutes. Instead, I found myself drawn deeper and deeper into each exhibit. Having spent a whole day there, I would... More

We came because of the fame of the architect, David Chipperfield. The building allows the art to shine. Frank Lloyd Wright, Grant Wood, Tiffany, and Audubon are some of the highlights. We "caught" the temporary fiber arts exhibit that was first class. Arturo Sandoval, Geary Jones, Lize Aviks, Karen Hampton, Tom Lundberg, Amy Clarke Moore; their fiber work is world... More
