This is a nice museum with a focus on events concerning Davenport. The is a nice section on the civil war, and nice recreations of the environment.

This science centre was really well done. It is small but the displays are very well designed to explain science in imaginative and interesting ways. Some of the displays are showing signs of age. In addition to the fun interactive displays for children, there were some very good sections for more adult interests.

The Putnam Museum is wonderful to visit if your family loves to play and learn. They have really awesome traveling exhibits the downside is that you pay extra for them. The regular exhibits in the museum are awesome...some are more historical, some really put a spot light on the area, and others are interactive learning exhibits. They have added a... More

The museum has been updated since I was there ten years ago to include more hands on activities for kids in addition to great exhibits for the grownups. The 3D movie on D Day was spectacular. The pricing is appropriate for what and where it is. In a bigger city you would pay twice as much. We plan to bring... More

We have a family membership and the grandchildren ask to go at least once a week. The STEM exhibit has at least 20 different activities and we spend at least 20 minutes at each one. This week it was the Lego raceway. We all made Lego vehicles which we raced on a timed track, last week they dug for dinosaur... More

Incredible, wonderful introduction to the history of the local geology/topography/environment and of the local industries and businesses. Beautiful collections of natural and manufactured items. Fascinating collection of exotic artifacts accumulated by Dr. Palmer. Meaningful rotating displays. IMAX-style theater always has several films worth watching. GREAT for all ages.

Nice museum with lots of hands on activities for kids. Exhibits are well done, with lots of variety. Captures history and nature of the region really well. Nice way to spend a few hours.

They try to charge extra for the cool exhibits and not include them in the regular entrance fee. It is not worth the money.

My latest experience at the Putnam was a field trip with my students. Their education department was so eager to make our experience enjoyable. I love the teachers night that the museum does so that teachers can preview the exhibits. I really enjoyed the science exhibit!
