Wanted to walk at this beautifully located park alongside the Missippi, but after a few hundred feet the mozzies attacked! Without insect repellant had no choice but to drive around and then away! Don't forget the repellant!

In the winter months, Credit Island is known for eagle viewing. In spring...and right now and all through April...the American White Pelican migrates here on its way north. There are literally hundreds in the wetland spillovers from the Mississippi that are on the island. These huge white birds with knobs on their beaks and feather-tufted heads are beautiful to see.... A little something for everyone! Harbor side of the park was filled with Pelicans, geese, ducks, herons. The river side had some people in fishing boats, kayaks, and even some one Kite surfing on the river, disc golfers, kids playing on the army tank and playground, people walking their dogs and fishing off the banks of the Mississippi River. There... More

Heard that there were quite a few Bald Eagles in the area. Went to see for myself. Wow! Saw at least 30 of out National Symbol! Simple awesome! If your area this time of year don't miss this! As an added bonus saw lots of Canadian Geese and Mallard Ducks!

This is a great park for bike riding, fishing, walking, running (2.6 mile paved loop), disc golf, bird watching, and just relaxing. It is a family friendly park. The lodge is under repair, but that should be done by spring of 2014. When the leaves change color, this is the best place to be.

They had their statues from the painting of Sunday in the Park. I understand they just repainted them all. Such a delight to see them out again.

I lived on credit island as a child, my father was the greenskeeper, and as such we lived on the park in the large building next to the tennis courts, at that time there was a connecting wall to enclose the area that housed the machinery they used to maintain the golf course, forming a huge courtyard where me and... A little run down, but a good place to visit and look for eagles. Road is good and well maintained. Right along the Mississippi river with a good view of Illinois on the other side.
