The Hitchcock Nature Center is a great place to visit. It has hiking trails and a tower that you can climb and see for miles and miles. There is learning area for kids. Good place for kids and adults.

My wife and I spent most of the day here hiking around and exploring the area. We had never been here before, but we bought the year pass (a very affordable $10 fee) and plan to return many times. I found 2 ticks climbing on my legs, but they were easily flicked off. We saw lots of birds and few... More

Well maintained and marked trails. The visitors center was closed on the Monday we were there. We were able to climb to the top of tower and enjoyed the view from the top. Cost is $2.00 per vehicle. Also one trail is on handicapped accessible board walk.

I've been several times to this unique area with a great view of the Loess Hills and Missouri River valley. Be sure to take the stairs up the overlook. There are nice exhibits of local animals. Lovely deck for a view too. Top-notch children's educational opportunities. Dedicated staff. I've been told this was to be a garbage heap at one... More

A hilltop amidst the vast farmlands of Iowa and a view tower on the top of this hill. It's the best experience to watch the sun peep from the end of horizon. The height gives you an advantage of seeing the sun right at the crack of dawn and what an experience! You have to be there to feel it.... More

This park is wonderful. The workers keep the park in tip top shape. They perform prairie burns to keep everything clean and coming back healthy. This park is excellent for all who like hiking, birding, camping. The park also has a lookout tower that goes approximately 50 ft in the air that gives you a overlook of the whole park... More
