Great for my Kids

My youngest children are 2 and 4 and this place is perfect for them. They can typically spend 3 hours here just going from one thing to the next...there is so much to do!

One of the better kids museums I have been to. All exhibits actually working, which is nice. Lots of hands on activities. I don't think it would be fun for any kids over the age of 10 though. My only complaint is that they don't have reciprocity with other museum passes.

More exhibits than can be seen in one visit. Very hands-on for young people. Exhipts on two levels. A unique asset of the Iowa City area. An added bonus was a real rock concert by third and fourth graders, including "Helter Skelter" by the Beatles and "Funkytown" byt Lipps, INC.

It rubs me wrong when a venue charges for admittance but has nothing targeted for you. My 3 year old and 6 year old had a great time and I'm glad they did but I feel like charging what they do for adults makes little sense when there is little for adults to do/see and absolutely zero comfortable seating for... I have an 8 year old and a now 2 year old. We decided to go to this museum because we have spring fever and are a little bored with our local children's museum. This museum is two floors of fun. My kids absolutely loved it. The museum is split into several small exhibits which are all interactive. My kids... More

Our kids (ages 6 and 8) have been here several times, but this was my first experience. I was very impressed. Even though it's clearly aimed at younger kids, I found myself thoroughly engrossed in several of the rooms. We spent a couple of hours, then left for lunch, and returned for a couple more hours. I don't know if... More

Not only was this so muh better than the Science Center in Des Moines for our 6 and 8 year olds-they give a half price admission discount to the military. What a deal!

You can use this as a destination for the grandkids several times,as they will only get through two or three areas in a three hour period, and then it's time for lunch or closing or grandparents' crashing.

It is a good place if your group averages under 9 years old. My girls were just too old to appreciate the exhibits to their fullest.

Incredible facility, staff and exhibits! This museum is one of a kind! It's so fun for children as well as adults! The staff is helpful, professional and they all seem happy to be there. The museum is clean and very easy to navigate. They are constantly updating and improving their exhibits. It's a great place to take your children. It's... More
