If you enjoy trails, the woods, and an interpretative center stop by the Indian Creek Nature Center. It seems like there is always something happening at ICNC. The trails can lead down to the river for fishing, or just exploring. ICNC keeps bees on the property and offers a great bee-keeping program each year.

I loved the lectures and tours they have had there. Seeing the GIANT tree on the trail, finding the "pods" from owls, and the wonderful guides knowledge were most intriguing to both the school kids and their chaperons.

Well maintained hiking trails that go through prairie and forrest. Very peaceful and quiet. Without a map I just randomly hiked the various loops and eventually found my way back to the parking lot. The visitor center was mediocore. Not much to see or do and the one employee didn't seem interested in explaining anything. They have a cool bee... More

Unfortunately the center itself was closed by the time we arrived but the trails are open from sunrise to 10:00 pm. The trails are very nice and we met several people who were running/biking.

Nice center inside. Loved how they had some interactive stuff for the kids. Paths were very well maintained. Wish that the trails were open. Closed due to flooding.

Stopped in for the maple festival with the kiddos. Walked around the grounds and checked out the old process of getting syrup. Very fun and interesting for curious kiddos. The back to the shop for pancakes and homemade syrup. Good time, nice location.

We have visited the Indian Creek Nature Center in all 4 Seasons and it was always a great time. Spring time, you are able to see great variety of flowers and beautiful flower trees, several species of birds most of them will be nesting, ducks and ducklings, not to mention the bee hive inside the Main Building. Volunteers are available... More

This center has walking trails, Maple syrup making. They are going to construct a new building to house the center. Great place to take kids and adults for a learning and understanding of nature.

Indian Creek Nature Center is a place of "ah" and "awe." With acres of forest and prairie and wetlands, and a very knowledgeable and personable staff, and great programming - it's a wonderful place for soaking up the natural world, only a short drive from downtown. Their new education center will be THE model of sustainability, showing their commitment to... More

There are always lots of activities going on at ICNC. It is a fun place to volunteer or to participate in one of their special activities. Great trails for hiking or geocaching. There are activities during every season.
