Kampen is rated one of the top collegiate courses in the nation and has been awarded 4.5 Stars on Golf Digest's "Places to Play." Kampen receives high marks as it is ranked as one of the most difficult golf courses in Indiana. The course has also played host to a number of prestigious collegiate and public tournaments such as the 2000 Men's Big Ten Championship, the 2003 Women's NCAA Championship, the 2004 Indiana Open, the 2005 Women's Western Amateur, and the 2008 Men's NCAA Championship. The course is named in honor of Emerson Kampen and his support of Purdue Athletics. Mr. Kampen's statue overlooks the first tee.

This course is a really good course; well maintained and very challenging. I can't recommend it for the higher handicap player.

I golfed Kampen this weekend after hearing from my friends on how great the course is. The greens and fairways are very nice and very well kept and probably the only saving grace. This is a challenging course with the touch of Pete Dye on every hole. Played it three (3) times. It used to be a wide open tract (North Course) that was wide open and I used to play it virtually alone. Now it is a first-class run that requires your A-game. Look forward to my next visit.

This Pete Dye design is home of the Purdue Boilermaker golf teams. The course is an understated gem with a variety of views adjacent to the course. The range used distance controlled balls but other than that the facility was wonderful.

Tough course not intended for the casual once or twice a year golfer. If you enjoy a true championship caliber challenge then look no further. Jim Scott the greenskeeper always has this course in great shape, with best greens in the area.
