Pleasant place

The gallery space is pleasant, and the location downtown is very accessible. The collection itself was quite limited, with mainly regional artists. Admission is free.

Beautiful location. Art work nicely displayed and no entrance fee but the museum ask for a small donation.

We had some time to kill while attending a football game at the Notre Dame campus so we tried a visit here and it was not very exceptional.

We are spoiled when it comes to art museums. We have been to the biggest and best around the U.S. and the rest of the world, but we love to go to the local art museums because we enjoy ourselves just seeing the different collections. This one is pretty sparse, but I would advise going anyway. The ladies we met... More

We happened upon the Museum of Art as part of our river walk, it was open and airy and not all stuffy and crowded. Very interesting to see art so nicely displayed

For a museum of this size, there is a good variety of exhibits from beautiful permanent oil paintings to a temporary exhibit named Recombination. The museum is laid out well and we were rarely cramped or crowded even with others in the area. The final room near the exit to the Century Center was pretty 'crafty' for an art museum.... More

With a generous permanent collection it is possible to have old favorites and to see something new often. The newer Dot Shop is a great opportunity to support local artists. The classes offered can be a bit expensive but they offer a wider range than what some of the other local artist locations are able to offer due to facilities... More

We were not expecting much in a relatively small museum. It turned out that they really have a nice collection of regional artists as well as a traveling exhibit on the Negro Leagues in baseball. I'd recommend a visit if you're in South Bend.

This museum is housed in a contemporary building. We parked in the front. We were greeted by a charming lady who welcomed us warmly and explained the lay out. There are a number of galleries featuring everything from oils to sculpture to audio visual displays. I did not really pick up any theme or flow though there were some impressive... More

Wonderful art. A great little escape. And you can't beat the price. The museum was free except for the special exhibit which charged a minimal price.
