The rest areas in this area are much nicer than the ones in The western states. They are clean and safe and many like this one have picnic areas for passing tourists.

Lots of info and pamphlets to find things to do. Clean, nice workers. Worth the stop. We were exploring Richmond for the day and found some interesting activities that we would not have known about if we had not stopped. Wayne County Historical museum is a definite must.

To get the most out of your visit to Richmond, stop here first. We planned a one week stay and found there’s so much to do, we could have stayed longer. They’ll give you directions and brochures to the things that fit your interest whether it be history, antique shopping, eating, site seeing, the great outdoors, shopping, etc. There’s so... More

I was reading someone else's response about it needing to be more child friendly and I agree. We stopped here on the way back home from an out of town trip. My youngest son had been in the car for a few hours and was wound up. (With the type of business this is, I would assume they get a... More

I'm sorry to hear about the experience with your son. We completely understand that children get restless during long trips and our goal is to provide an atmosphere where they can stretch their legs and relax. We apologize for your inconvenience and I have passed this along to our staff to discuss ways we can provide more child friendly activities... More

For a U. S. 40 museum, not really much to see. Just brochures and a few local displays, etc. Really disappointing for an Avid Rt. 40/Old National Road Traveler who has covered most of the route across Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio (when possible), and Indiana.

Lots of helpful information. Very kind and helpful attendants. They also seem to interact with the downtown. In the spring they had a lovely fairy encounter.

This was actually our second time visiting the Welcome Center, we were also there in October last year. Both times were to obtain chocolate passports!! The ladies are always very nice and this time we each (my sister and I) found some very nice made in Indiana jewelry there too! I don't expect volunteers at a welcome center to know... More

The gentleman working today was very welcoming and helpful. We stopped by to get passports for the Fairy Trail and the Chocolate Trail. Both trails can be and should be done simultaneously, especially with children. I was very impressed with the quality and enjoyment of the tour around town that we followed. Richmond has put a lot of thought into... More

what can I say. Its there. the hours are poor. They do not help that many people to justify the cost to tax payers. during a bad snow storm once they would not open their doors to stranded motorist and the hotels were full. managed poorly if you ask me. I am sure the tax payers of Wayne county could... More

Every time I go there the people that work there are very eager to help you find information. Offers lots of information of the area and the rest of Indiana. Free Indiana road maps and a map of attractions to see. A must stop.
