This landmark has a personal meaning to me and my family. My mother (who would be 76 years old if she were still alive) and her older brother used to visit Mr. & Mrs. Steele as children while their parents tended the garden, house, and fields. "The Haymaker" painting was created using my grandpa and uncles as models while they... More

Outstanding tour and beautiful surroundings of American Impressionist painter! Go early...it is hot out there, but worth it to see this extensively cared for home and art gallery. Very nice gift shop. Of course, gallery and shop are temp controlled... A+++++

Beautiful setting as the sun goes down for a wedding reception. Very private and romantic. They needed to mow first though.

The home and studio are well worth a short visit. Good collection of TC Steele art work included in the studio and the house shows his personality since he designed it.

A beautiful drive of several minutes from Nashville into the forest and up. I am told that you can see for hundreds of miles when there are no leaves on the trees, which is why T. C. Steele chose the loscation. The tour is wonderful led by skilled guides. The Art is really great and you can see the Artist... More

Finally got to be part of the paint out. Daughter is an artist and has been wanting to try this for about 10 years! Beautiful flowers & forest views. Rolling hills, just what brown County is known for. Have visited inside the house in the past and the studio. Go see, great history of the area.

I thought It was nice to come walk around. The buildings all seem to be closed so if you plan on going call ahead or schedule a tour.

Lovely setting in the state park. The studio was locked but when we asked, we were told that a tour was possible because a docent was there. Interesting studio with many examples of Steele's work. Studio also has a very tiny gift shop.

Very nice place, we learned alot. The grounds will be beautiful in the spring and summer. We intend to come back when everything is in bloom.
