Was visiting family in area and they had always brought us 3 Floyds brew to TX to sample so while in area we were going to try the tap room. They did not know that is has been closed for quite a long time. They do have a merchandise area where you can come buy beer to go but to sample they send you to local restaurants or pubs that have them to serve. We purchased some we knew and picked up a variety pack to sample.

Went here a couple of months ago and was exactly what I expected. Top notch beer and delicious food. I had no issues with music being too loud. The waitress was kind and never let our glasses get empty. Spent the whole day there drinking beer. Got lucky enough to go right after Dark Lord day and happened to score a bottle. One of the best beers I've had to date. Also, the Skull'Ole was one of the most unique beers I've ever tasted. Can't find anything similar in taste. I only wish more stores carried Three Floyds. The ones that do are always sold out.

We visited between Christmas and New Years, and the place has a strict 75 person seating limit and no standing at the bar. Literally you can't drink a beer unless you are in a seat, so unlike many other breweries where they encourage drinking and talking and visiting with friends, this place makes it ultimately impossible.

Best bet - get there early! We were in town from North Carolina, so I send hubby to bar for a drink (versus the 1.5 hour wait for a table at 2pm on a Monday afternoon.)

Excellent selection overall of craft beer, and worth visiting. Just make sure you know during peak holiday times and weekends you will be out standing in the cold.

We stopped there on our annual ( but Covid-19 delayed) trip to Michigan for lunch on Friday. Rude worker said restaurant closed….Since pandemic. Like it was common knowledge. I told him to put it on the website. For crying out loud!

We have been on 14 different brewery tours now, and this was a joke. The main reason for a brewery tour is to sample a beer or two. This tour started and we walked into the back part of the factory, the tour guide was informative and did tell the history of the beer and knew his stuff, but at every tour we have ever been on, they let you sample their beer! This brand in particular is not easily available to get. We were not expecting to get loaded at the tour, but you would think they would let you sample them so you might buy a product afterwards that you may like, and have never tried before. At the end of the tour they give you the option of eating in their brewpub, or buying from a makeshift beer/merchandise area they have. The hour wait to try their beer, which we would have to purchase was not something we wanted to do. The crowd of people in a line outside they ushered in two at a time to the gift area, was equally long and moved even slower. We inquired to the door person about this mess and were told that it was like this every weekend and we would have to wait. In conclusion, if you want to see the factory with a history of the beer, and then wait 45 minutes to an hour to purchase beer to take home, or wait the same for a seat at the pub, with NO SAMPLES, this tour is for you !!!!!

I live about an hour from 3 Floyds Brewing Co. and have been there a number of times, as has my extended family. You are first "greeted" by a rather unfriendly host who lets you know their rules. You have to wait outside because of fire regulations, etc. No standing in the bar. There is no place to wait except in the parking lot. They take your cell phone number and text you when you can be seated. When it's cold outside, it's best to wait in your car in the small parking lot, or up to 3 blocks away if you can find a space. They have no interest in accommodating their customers. Then, when you are notified that your table (or bar seat- as you cannot walk up to the bar and get a beer) is ready, you have 5 minutes to show up at the host stand or your table will be given away.
When we signed in yesterday we were told there would be a wait of 1 - 1/2 hours. At that time there was a table open, but not cleaned in the bar, and 7 seats available at the bar. We checked 20 minutes later and all those seats were still empty. My brother decided to get a quick beer at the bar while we waited and as soon as the bartender began pouring him a beer, the host immediately came over and told him to leave. It actually turned out to be a 2 hour wait so we all just left and visited other micro breweries in the area.
Once I waited 2 hours in 20 degree weather in line in their parking lot to buy 2 cases of Zombie Dust for someone (crazy I know). The employee in the parking lot watching the line kept shouting at everyone "we can't guarantee that you will get any Zombie Dust". Well, I did get the 2 cases and had to lug them 3 blocks away, then decided to treat myself to some warm food so went back in for a quick lunch. Since I was alone, I was told I had to sit at the bar even though all the tables were empty. Eventually, I talked them into letting me have a table in the corner (please oh please Mr. Wonderful waiter, please give me the privilege of letting me sit in your tiny little bar) . So I ordered a small beer and some chicken wings, and then some beignets with chocolate sauce and before I finished which, by the way was less than an hour, and the bar was still empty, I was told to leave. They said they needed the table. Really ??
Other members of my family have had similar experiences. They were treated rudely and the staff in general has a mean attitude.. The brewery is enlarging and they are adding a distillery. I read that they are not expanding their dining area nor will they be providing a waiting area for their customers. You may have to check those facts yourself.
Maybe some people think that "attitude" is cool, but when you are sitting outside in 10 degrees, it's not wonderful, and the most annoying part of it all is that the owners and the staff DON'T CARE ! They really don't care about their customers and they show it in many ways. They leave you waiting in the parking lot while there are tables open, they sneer, they shout, they condescend. So if you like 3 Floyds beer, buy it at the liquor store, the "experience" of going to the brewery is absolutely not worth it. I think my family has finally given them enough chances to be decent folks.

I have loved the beer for years and couldn’t wait to visit ! I went straight to the bar to sit in an empty seat but was quickly advised I couldn’t sit there unless the hostess put me there . Once I got my seat approved I walked around trying to read all of the memorabilia and awards they had won but was told they had a “no standing” policy and I needed to go back to my seat. What ?! My family had dropped me off there so I could check the place out before dinner time. When they came back to join me we were told we needed to go outside and wait while they cleaned a table for us. Outside ! We should have left right then.

It was the strangest thing......

After running into two people that walked out because they couldn't believe what they saw and heard, I go in to join our party. I was supposed to be of 8 but between the server and the manager it never got to that point!

When the group of three asked if they could combine tables to accommodate a group of 8 they were told NO.

When they asked to add two chairs so the five people can sit together, were told NO.

When they asked if they could pay their check and move to two tables that could seat 8 colleagues so they can enjoy their night, were told NO.

One of our colleagues got too mad and loudly asked for the manager which Yes, was too much.. but unhappy "customers" can be like that sometimes. Customers.... a new concept it seemed! Anyway, the "manager" offered nothing. All we heard was "These are the rules" the only thing he was able to cmpromise on was that we would have to walk out of the door and come back in to sit at another table with a straight face!!!! The Seinfeld episode of the Soup Nazi made more sense!

Our boss arrived. Considering our waitress had no intention to serve us, so one of the guys wanted to buy him a beer from the bar. Both bartenders wouldn't serve him! They black listed him already! So our boss sat for a few minutes and left.

Then the waitress said we had to settle out because she doesn't want to serve us!

It was indeed the strangest thing... I wasn't sure what planet I was on!

After trying to salvage the night in trying to forget the insanity that is this place and "The Rules", we went to a bar down street to join another holiday party of colleagues. When we get there and we told them the story, they laughed and said that is why the are here and not at Three Floyds. Tables were combined, seats were all over the place and the waitress was a pleasure.

Not sure what more to say but "No More Soup for You" and soup is my business and that of everybody we tell this unbelievable story to.

Ciao

My husband and I drove 30 miles today to Three Floyds. We are both 51; he had an ID I did not. We were turned away. We will not make the effort to go to the brewery again. There are plenty of other great breweries locally to choose from such as Flossmoor Station and Revolution Brewing; who operate their business with common sense. We will spend our money there.

The employees are rude, the heavy metal all too heavy, and the general atmosphere too dark and gothic. The beer is good, but you can get other good beers in a warm and inviting atmosphere as opposed to this. It's just plain bad business. Go elsewhere.
