This trail is 63 miles running from Marion all the way to Richmond Indiana, transversing some of the most beautiful farm land the corn belt has to offer! Is also passes through many Indiana cities both large and small. There are several trail heads for rest stops and passage to sleeping accommodations at periodical hotels and motels. We had not experienced the CARDINAL GREENWAY & THE ISLAND Cafe, so we arrived to see both. Parking in the Berkshire Hathaway LOT, (seems to be OK) we eased over to THE ISLAND, for a snack, & then hiked up the trail. There isn't a lot to see, other than nature, on the trail, but in town, there is more... More

Probably one of the best biking/walking trail in the state if not the country...it was one of the first trails built and PAVED from the start...it runs from north of Muncie, Indiana, to past Richmond, Indiana, following a train rail from C & O railroad.

The Cardinal Greenway is a paved trail that runs from Richmond, Indiana to north of Muncie, Indiana. The well maintained trail has several areas with ample parking to facilitate access. After living near Muncie for over eight years, I've yet to hear of any crime or safety concerns along the trail which adds another positive to the experience. All ages... More

The Cardinal Greenway is an asphalt paved rail trail from downtown Richmond to a point north of Muncie. It's a nice trail for a long, leisurely bike ride. Very flat except some slight grades at the southern 20 miles.

You get a little old part of town, downtown and across the river scenery walking this line or you can head the other way from the old train station and be out in the sticks in no time. Great walking/biking trail that's safe, wide, and partially paved.

I recently did a half marathon on the Cardinal Greenway and it was very nice! I had been on a small section of it before but it was great to be able to explore much more. It was very clean and up-kept well. What a great resource for the Muncie area to have!

A great weekend getaway would include the Monon Trail in Indy/Carmel/Westfield then a trip to Muncie to spend some time on the Cardinal Greenway. The Cardinal Greenway is a bit more picturesque, is better maintained (in this roller blader's opinion) and a highlight on the south side is the round barn. Plenty of places to park your car (safe places)... More

The Greenway is a great way to get in a few to a lot of miles, conveniently located in the Muncie, Richmond, and Gaston areas. It is well maintained and most parts have very little traffic at the intersections. Right off the Richmond trailhead (at the southernmost point) are several restaurants and downtown Richmond, with antique stores and local fare.... More
