A great weekend getaway would include the Monon Trail in Indy/Carmel/Westfield then a trip to Muncie to spend some time on the Cardinal Greenway. The Cardinal Greenway is a bit more picturesque, is better maintained (in this roller blader's opinion) and a highlight on the south side is the round barn. Plenty of places to park your car (safe places)... More

The Greenway is a great way to get in a few to a lot of miles, conveniently located in the Muncie, Richmond, and Gaston areas. It is well maintained and most parts have very little traffic at the intersections. Right off the Richmond trailhead (at the southernmost point) are several restaurants and downtown Richmond, with antique stores and local fare.... More

Spent great day on trail. Rode 33 miles from Richmond to Economy and back. Not crowded and easy ride, definitely not flat tho. Finished with great lunch at little shebas.

I regularly go running, walking, or biking on the Cardinal Greenway, Indiana's largest unbroken trail. This trail is well kept and wanders through farm country, woods, as well as city neighborhoods. Mile markers at every 1/2 mile inform you of how far you've come. There are trailheads where you can park a car (I'm fortunate to live only about a... More

The Greenway has always been pretty well kept up and tidy when I've walked. I like the scenery and lots of places to park your vehicle to go for long walks.

Even though it passes through the middle of the city it doesnt feel like it.....there are a few places where you cross busy streets, but its nice and quiet most of the way. Unique over passes and scenery along the way. Definately recommend for family walks or bike rides.

The Cardinal Greenway is great for biking, walking, and yes, even geocaching! I've taken my kids on certain stretches of the Greenway where several geocaches are hidden! We all ad a great time!

The depot has a gift shop and sells maps for $2. The map is way better than the one online. We used the bike trails website in combination with trail link to plan our trip since we were coming from outnof town. If you have time get the one from the gift shop to figure out where to park. The... More

We had a great ride on a small portion of the Cardinal Greenway trail this morning. We started in Richmond and road to Losantville. It is a lovely trail that takes you thru tree lined sections, rolling hills, over bridges and thru the heart of amish countryside. Asphalt trail that is well maintained and the trailheads are very well maintained... More

This lovely trail that runs through eastern central Indiana is very well maintained and scenic. It runs through small towns and farm fields, along rivers and highways. The Muncie trailhead is a restored railroad station with lots of local information.
