We've been here several times the last few years. It is across the street from the beach ( Lake Michigan) so it can be an all-day adventure. The zoo can be walked through in a couple hours. It is small and the animals are close-up. It's great for small kids but there are stone stairs that a stroller would not... More

The Zoo is very pretty. Although it is small, they had a lot of animals . Not only do they have animals, they have a really cool towere, from which you can see all over the shoreline. It was so amazing, that was my favorite part. I would recommend this place.

Half of the habitats are empty or closed and you would think that they would lower their price to reflect this but they don't. They don't have the courtesy to tell you this ahead of time. The food is horrible so definitely eat before you go. For the price of admission you can jump on the south shore then 1... More

This really is a small zoo, although there are a lot of hills so the walking seems like a big place! Its smallness works however, as its a wonderful place to take small children who just dont have the attention span for a long drawn out place in a bigger zoo. The location is nice too, as its near a... More

Although it is very small, Washington Park Zoo is a great way to spend part of your day. They are currently renovating and updating many of their enclosures to better it for their animals and for their patrons. Although it doesn't have the size and variety of some of the larger zoos in larger cities, this is a great opportunity... More

The chicago zoos are nothing compared to this one. Even though it is small it was amazing. The animals looked well taken care of. It was a great different experience because they had more "exotic" animals in great condition not like the ones we see at LP zoo.

We love this zoo. It is good size and reasonably priced. The kids love interacting with all the animals. We visit this zoo often.

Great value, for a wonderful small zoo experience. Added bonus, it is right across the street from a Lake Michigan beach!

We came to Michigan City for a day trip. Although the town itself was disappointing, the zoo was very enjoyable. The animals were out and active. We all enjoyed climbing up the tower and admiring the beautiful view. It was a lovely way to spend a fall morning.

This zoo is small, and not fancy at all. But I loved all the old paths and the old school feel of the place! I also liked that it wasn't crowed and you were able to be up close to the animals. And I loved the petting zoo area! The 90 stairs up the tower were very worth it for... More
