We finished it in just over an hour and the animals were awesome and we fed a pig. We had a great time.

Smaller than big-city zoos, but that allows you to get closer to the animals. A great day trip for families with younger kids. Stroller friendly! Stop at the beach afterwards for a quick swim, or just to dip your toes.

It's nice for a small zoo, surprised to see a white tiger, AWESOME!! the bird house where you could feed the birds was my favorite. And how cool was the tunnel the kids could crawl into an see the otters swim around them! The Zoo needs some TLC but it's great for what it is.

Loved my time at this zoo! It's small, clean, and friendly! Beach is right across the street so can make a great day trip! You can probably view the entire zoo in 2-3 hours. A lot of the zoo animals are rescues, which is nice too. Can't wait to go back!

The good: Up close and personal with most animals, the tigers are right in your face. Easy to get around. Great for small kids. Right across from beautiful Washington Park. Scenic views from the Tower. The bad: If you're expecting a big zoo with huge animal enclosures you will be disappointed. There are not so many different animals. It's hilly... More

I'm so torn leaving this review. We thoroughly enjoyed the animals - white tigers, bears, otter, etc. However, the enclosures for these animals were so small and the facility was so torn up it was very depressing in a lot of ways. There were three bald eagles in one cage that wasn't big enough for them to fly at all.... More

Yes it's a small zoo however it's an old zoo that's not in a big city. They are fixing things up slowly. My kids and I like the zoo because it's small and can make a day at the lakefront without missing anything. Spend a few hours at the zoo and have lunch there too, walk over to the splash... More

Although this is a small zoo, we felt that it could have been so much nicer if it was managed properly. A good example of a well run smaller zoo would be the Naples Zoo in Naples, FL. The enclosures for many of the animals are outdated and harken back to a time when animal happiness wasn't considered. It's really... More

Well, I know they are trying hard but this zoo had more closed exhibits than open ones. The poor red tailed hawk was all puffed up and just looked totally unhappy in his very small cage. He could not fly in his cage for sure. Maybe they move him at night to bigger enclosure but I who knows. The monkey... More
