We were looking for things to do with our toddler (other than the beach) and found that Washington Park Zoo was a good stop. While I was fascinated by it's history as a WPA project, the animals were enough to keep our son entertained. The tigers were beautiful but woefully kept in a small enclosure, as were the monkeys. They... More

We made a special trip with our grandson, as we were visiting family south of here. We use to live in Michigan City but left 27 years ago. We use to bring our girls there all the time, and want to show our grandson what his mom use to do. It is still a great little zoo, come to the... More

This is a small zoo, with a limited variety of animals. For little kids, great to allow them to see the animals. You can see the whole zoo in less than a hour, but take more time to enjoy it. The animals are in small cages, so animal rightist will not appreciate this zoo.

This zoo use to be so nice when I was a kid. It has just been going down hill. Not sure if it's the funds or what. It's still nice to go see for memories. Little children would enjoy what animals they do have, but if you've seen it how it use to be it's a little disappointing.

I visited with a friend from Italy. We had just been to Lincoln Park zoo so I figured he would be unimpressed. We actually found that the Washington Park Zoo is very nicely done and all the inhabitants seems happy and healthy. The walk up to and up IN the tower is nice. The view is amazing! We could see... Loved this little zoo. Even the enclosures were interesting. Be sure to get a map. We left thinking we had seen it all only to discover we missed half of it.

This zoo is very old and very small. There were some great animals but it should have only been No more than $3 to get in because we were only in there for an hour.

We have brought our 2 year old here a few times already. It's a great little zoo, perfect size for kids that age to run around in a few hours time. Admission is cheap ($6.50 adults, $5.50 kids), parking available right across the street and you can walk to the beach from here as well. Worth a visit if you're... More

This is a great little zoo, many attractions, I was pleasantly surprised. We live in the area so this was a great, short trip with the grandkids. Eagles, Bears, White Tigers, petting zoo even an enclosed aviary where you can feed parakeets. If you live further away, make a day of it, after the zoo walk on the beach, have... More
