This is a Zoo that is known for success in breeding difficult species. Although not a large or expansive zoo it is well worth the walk around since it feels like a pleasant place to be. The residents are well cared for and healthy and the enclosures are safe. Be aware of the tiger cage..You are very close and they... More

Nice little zoo I guess if you have a couple of hours to kill. The largest outside attraction is now closed...and probably wont reopen for a long time till they get the money to refurbish it. They do have white tigers that are neat to look at. They also have some baby tigers and monkeys but were both out of... More

I visited the zoo while on a weekend trip to Washington Park, and had a wonderful time! The zoo was very quaint, and affordable. I went on a Saturday Morning a little after they opened, and there were only a handful of visitors in the zoo, many were families with small children. The small size of the zoo made the... More

It's small, but fine for toddlers. The monkey exhibit is out of commission, unfortunately. The walk-thru bird exhibit is pretty cool. You can get Popsicle sticks with bird food to feed to the little birdies. The kids love it cuz the birds will fly up to them, land on their arms or hands, and munch away. Several of the paths... This is NOT Brookfield or Indianapolis Zoo. This is a small zoo that was built in 1928. It has undergone a lot of recent work and is still being improved upon. It is a wonderful place to visit for an hour or two. If you have small children, and don't want to spend an entire day at a zoo, then... More

We finished it in just over an hour and the animals were awesome and we fed a pig. We had a great time.

Smaller than big-city zoos, but that allows you to get closer to the animals. A great day trip for families with younger kids. Stroller friendly! Stop at the beach afterwards for a quick swim, or just to dip your toes.

It's nice for a small zoo, surprised to see a white tiger, AWESOME!! the bird house where you could feed the birds was my favorite. And how cool was the tunnel the kids could crawl into an see the otters swim around them! The Zoo needs some TLC but it's great for what it is.

Loved my time at this zoo! It's small, clean, and friendly! Beach is right across the street so can make a great day trip! You can probably view the entire zoo in 2-3 hours. A lot of the zoo animals are rescues, which is nice too. Can't wait to go back!

The good: Up close and personal with most animals, the tigers are right in your face. Easy to get around. Great for small kids. Right across from beautiful Washington Park. Scenic views from the Tower. The bad: If you're expecting a big zoo with huge animal enclosures you will be disappointed. There are not so many different animals. It's hilly... More
