This place is a little bit of Heaven on Earth. When you walk in there is a great smell of chocolate. Delicious! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The gummy bears are so fresh that you will never buy them elsewhere and they have some different flavors than found in stores. The chocolate is SO good. I highly recommend the... More

It's a real life Willy Wonka like candy factory/store. They have the best gummy bears around. If you even slightly like candy and are in the area you must stop. The Mango gummy bears are probably my favorite. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. They will even let you sample the candy to help you decide what you... More

I have driven by a million times and seen them on Food Factory. It just so happened that two days before our trip I saw a bag of their gummy worms. Tried them and was instantly addicted. Very upset that we had never stopped before. Went on a Monday and it was crowded but so worth the stop. More gummy... More

We saw signs for Albanese Candy Factory as we were driving toward Chicago. When we decided to stop for the night in Merrillville, we decided to check it out. Our three children loved the variety of all the different candy as well as the multitude of gummy bear flavors. It was also interesting for them to be able to see... More

This place makes the best gummy treats in the world! Love gummy bears? Of course that's the main attraction! But do you like gummy lizards or frogs or those amazing sour gummy snakes like I do? They had them too! The candy store has everything they make in house and more. If you're lucky; they'll have some mess-up bags for... More

I found this place from trip advisor. My 13 year old son and I stopped in on our way to the waterpark. He is a big gummy bear fan. Me not so much but do like chocolate. it was so easy to get to and plenty of parking. You are able to sample as many things as you like. Wonderful... More

If you have the time, it is a fun stop. Home of the gummy bears, they're so fresh. You can also look into the windows of the candy factory and see them being made. Delicious chocolates as well and you can ask for samples. If you are into older candies like Zots or Kits, they have a section devoted to... More

Lots of candy and a fun atmosphere. I have a feeling it isn't up to fire code however. Extremely crowded and the layout doesn't help. It's difficult to shop much less pay for your merchandise. Worth the trip, just make sure you potty first. There is only one stall for both male and female.

If you are passing by on 65, take the time to stop. It's only a couple of miles from the highway. The gummies are made fresh and well worth it. We always get chocolate covered almonds too- the chocolate is delish.

We had a good time looking at the different types of candy and sampling a couple. Purchased some items at good prices. Not a whole lot to see but worth a shore visit.
