We went to Turkey Run, myself and two teens, to hike and canoe. We used Sugar Valley Canoe for the canoeing. The trails were just as I remembered them from when I was a teen myself. If you go, plan to get muddy/wet shoes and to have a great time!

Turkey Run State Park is one of the best state parks not only in Indiana, but around the country. I grew up going every year as a child and it was definitely a place I wanted to revisit after moving away as an adult. It was everything I loved and remembered. Trails 3 and 9 are the best, but all... More

who would think that you'd find such scenery in Indiana? Deep cliffs, adventurous hiking, just beautiful rocks and sights! Nicely maintained, the trails run the range from pretty easy to strenuous. There is something for everyone here! The Inn is nice too. Makes a great overnight trip for the whole family. Really great nature escape, easy to get to, perfect... More

My first advice, do not go away from the Trail. Trail 3, and 9 where really good. the trail towards the punch bowl was greenish. You can cover most of the trails in a day.

Excellent hiking trail for intermediate to advanced hikers - covering streams, waterfalls, rocks and rugged terrain. Camping nearby but close to main road - would definitely backpack next time out.

Been here 3 times and it is a beautiful escape. Lots of big rocks and canyons on either side of Sugar Creek that runs through the park. The famous suspension bridge that crosses the creek has just been renovated with all new wood and is really pretty. Most of the trails are pretty rugged so be prepared for an adventure!... More

This was our fourth trip to Turkey Run SP. We love the trails there. Not a large State Park, but certainly a lot to offer. Kids and grown ups alike, enjoy all this park has to offer. We will continue to visit here at least once a year for some great hiking and relaxation. Indiana residents pay $5 entry fee... More

Turkey Run is terrific. Our family liked the hiking trails very well, and enjoyed a nice lunch buffet in the main lodge. They had a nice salad bar, and a variety of entrees including fish, pasta and meat. Enter for $7 per carload, and add $3 for admission to their olympic-size pool with diving area, and you have everything you... More

We spent the last 3 days at Turkey Run State Park, staying in the park-operated campground. This park is wonderful on a hot summer day, because of the many hiking trails that wind through deep, very shady canyons with high stone sides. The new-replaced swinging bridge over Sugar Creek is a lot of fun to cross, and gives good views... More

Hiking trails are first rate. Pick the trails that parallel the river. They include a suspension footbridge, a covered bridge, an old coal mine, a pioneer home, and awesome river views. We saw two huge turtles swimming in the river, as well as deer, blue herons, and other birds. Lodge has a good buffet, as well as a menu. A... More
