We had a group of 10 take the tour through the caverns. Although some of the areas were a little tricky for our little kids to navigate, overall it was great! The guide was very patient and informative! The history behind the cave is interesting, but I would suggest bringing a sweater along! Even though the temp was in the... More

Thanks for the great review. Marengo Cave is a very easy walking cave, and children love going through and seeing the formations. The cave stays the same temp all year long, 52 degrees. Look forward to your family coming back to see us. More

The great well trained guides are what make this cave special. They are really good at picking young people who are enthusiastic and make the experience enjoyable. Recommended for families of all ages.

We took our third graders here for a field trip. The cave is great. But we were doing too much stuff so it felt very rushed. I did not like the hike we took on slippery leaves up a steep hill...and actually jammed my finger when I tripped on a rock you could not see because of the leaves and... More

Thanks for coming with the school group to visit Marengo Cave. Glad you thought the cave was great. When groups come to the cave, sometimes we have to have fillers to do because of the number of groups there are. We can only take up to 30 people on a group. The nature trail takes about 15 minutes to do,... More

Let me start by saying that I have been to the Mammoth Cave and some spectacular caves in Greece (Petralona & Aggitis). I wasn't sure if this cave was worth visiting but contacted another reviewer who encouraged a visit. We loved it! Surely not the size of the Mammoth Cave, but with far more formations. Our guide was friendly and... More

We had a tour for a large family group. We did both the Dripstone Trail and Crystal Palace tours, and it was an AMAZING experience. Almost overwhelming because everywhere we looked there was something to oooh and ahhh over. The formations were boundless and widely varied, and the trails go so close to them (in some cases, right over them).... More

The tours were great albeit pretty basic and a quick pace; the formations are well worth it. Make sure you do the Crystal cavern as it has many more formations, even though it shorter. All the staff were super friendly and they keep the tour size small!! Will definitely be back again!!! Want to do the cave crawl!!

We were staying on patoka lake and decided to drive the 20 mins to the cave. Was really neat to see the two caves tours they offered. Tour guide was informative and well versed. I really enjoyed the ambiance of the cave and the history associated with the cave.
