Beautiful, well-preserved mansion. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Very interesting story of a man/family that was so important to Indiana, but is so unknown to the majority of Hoosiers.

The tour was well worth it. You can walk the grounds, but going thru the house was very interesting. Great architecture, interesting history and story. Only an hour long so it fits well with other activities.

Madison, IN, is, itself, an interesting and lovely place to visit, and no visit there would be complete without touring the Lanier Mansion. This was the home of James Lanier, a very interesting and important person to Indiana's history. The mansion is beautiful, and our guide was very knowledgeable about Lanier and his home. We love visiting new places, and... More

The whole area around the mansion contains iconic 19th century homes. The mansion is an unexpected home in this old river town.

Lovely grounds on Ohio. The huge old home has fascinating antiques in its many rooms. I especially like the children's room and toys.

Lovely antebellum mansion that is a must see for any visitor to Historic Madison. The guides know the history of the home and enjoy sharing their knowledge of the family and the time period. Many locals have photos made at the mansion. Traditional stop for prom pics. Gorgeous wedding site!
