We were very pleased to take the tour. It was quite surprising to hear what Mr Lanier had done for the state of Indiana in its infancy. It was even more startling to realize Indiana history makes little reference to him The house was fascinating to tour and a great tour guide

This Historical House is quite a show. Antiques remain in the house and home was restored several years ago. The outside makes great photo opportunities.

I've been 4 times now, and this is one of my favorite stops in Madison. The tour guides are so knowledgeable and friendly.

We had our wedding on the Lanier Mansion grounds over Memorial Day weekend. The ceremony was held in the north gardens and the reception in the south gardens. Being that it is a historical site, there were many rules to follow which was to be expected. We were very pleased to find that numerous weekends were available to rent the... More

Took the Mansion tour early on a Sunday morning. The tour guide was knowledgeable and let us know when answers to questions were just not available. The interior of the house has been well restored and has a number of unique architectural features. This is one of the first historical homes we have toured where we were allowed to visit... More

Inexpensive and decorated gorgeously. especially like the story of at the end of the tour kind of spooky in a way. Makes your heart skip a beat or at least it did me

This is a good place for history buffs. The mansion is really nice and the staff was great. The story was very interesting on Lanier and what he did for Indiana. Great setting on the Ohio.

The guided tour through Lanier Mansion was interesting, and our tour guide not only told us about the inside of the home, but there were many other stories as we looked out the windows.
