We took a guided tour of Lanier Mansion and enjoyed learning about Indiana's historic landmark, however some areas of the mansion were closed for renovation.

If your in Madison, Indiana, a tour of the Lanier Mansion is definitely worth a visit. The tour starts at the top of the hour, very reasonably priced, and lasts about one hour. The guide we had was very knowledgeable and explained various intricate features of the mansion clearly. The mansion is in great shape and has been restored to... More

If you're in Madison, please make it a priority to tour the Lanier Mansion. The architecture and historic furnishings are worth the very inexpensive entrance fee. If you have a chance to see it a Christmas, please make it a point to be there! WOW! How beautiful!

The Lanier Mansion tour was one of the most interesting mansion tours I have been on and I've been on many. The Madison Visitor's Center is located right across the street - you can park your car for free, browse through brochures for the whole state of Indiana, and purchase your tickets to Lanier at the visitor's center. It's also... More

Our Girl Scout troop of teenagers enjoyed the tour and the gardens and the view of the river. Very interesting hearing about why the Lanier Mansion is the first historic site in Indiana. We had just visited the Springdale Cemetery and saw the Lanier family plot, so the stories meant a little more to us.

We were very pleased to take the tour. It was quite surprising to hear what Mr Lanier had done for the state of Indiana in its infancy. It was even more startling to realize Indiana history makes little reference to him The house was fascinating to tour and a great tour guide

This Historical House is quite a show. Antiques remain in the house and home was restored several years ago. The outside makes great photo opportunities.

We had our wedding on the Lanier Mansion grounds over Memorial Day weekend. The ceremony was held in the north gardens and the reception in the south gardens. Being that it is a historical site, there were many rules to follow which was to be expected. We were very pleased to find that numerous weekends were available to rent the... More
