Great place to enjoy the great outdoors. Nice walking trail and the park is in the heart of downtown which is easy to get to from any part of town.

Very close to downtown hotels, restaurants, shopping, convenient to reach by walking, lies this unexpected relaxing venue to spend a few hours enjoying the sunshine.

Nice safe place to run on the dimly lit paths along the White River. The lighting could be better, but I felt relatively safe. It was early in the morning, so the only folks out were the crazy runner folks like me, and they were hard to find. The loop around the zoo and the college campus was nice. It... More

I spent an evening downtown Indy at the White River State Park Amphitheater for an outdoor concert this summer. I was solo and had no problems with safety to and from the parking garage. Venue was very wet due to massive rains in days prior but they made sure all the seats were wiped and dried. Variety of food and... More

White River Park has it all! The Eiteljorg Museum of Native American Art is a nationally acclaimed interactive entertainment experience. The State Museum is another wonderful interactive introspection into Indiana. The Indianapolis Zoo is nationally famous and don't miss the Dolphin Show or the Orangutan exhibit.

Nice walking paths with nature on at least one side. Generally feels safe, but probably wouldn't walk alone after dark, but that's just me. It's close to the zoo and canal and other greT down town attractions. It's a nice break that costs nothing. Usually see lots of joggers and a few bikes.

Imagine, a veteran getting a parking ticket in a "state park" the day before Veterans day, and a black guy walking nearby my vehicle telling a white girl very loudly how they give tickets to people. Seems like downtown Indy. Seems like the reason Indy has such a corruption problem.

If you love to have a nice run or walk or may be a quick sneaker hike, this is the place to be. There is a lot of space, fresh air and beautiful statues to look at. Its so close to the zoo to so you have the choice of hanging out at the park while waiting for the zoo... More
