I was happy to include this during my trip. Very clean, very relaxing atmosphere. Well lit area at night. Nice place for families.
Nice place to unwind after a day at the zoo or catching an Indians game. Also a nice place to catch a concert in the summer time.
A highlight of any trip to Indianapolis has to be the White River State Park. What a treasure for the city. Not only does it have the museums and the zoo, the wonderful walking/biking paths along the canal are marvelous exercise for all ages. We enjoyed a lovely walk on a spring day, and were joined by many others taking...

This is the second time that I've been to this park, and the second time that I've absolutely loved it. The weather is pretty lousy this time, so we couldn't spend a whole day out on the canal walk like last time (which was fantastic, incidentally), but there are so many other attractions to this park that we had more...

A wonderful park in downtown Indianapolis. A beautiful April afternoon and we had 5 hours before heading off to the airport. Walked around downtown for a while before heading over to the park. After a short walk around we decided to rent a bicycle, actually a deuce coupe. We headed off around the canal and shortly found out the pedal...

This is a gem, located right next door to downtown (like three blocks west, entirely within walking distance). You can walk it, run it, bike it, rent bikes or surreys, go to the zoo, go to the museums, go to the gardens or just plain check out the green space and art work throughout. Plenty of people being active all...

If it were about 20 degrees warmer would have been a perfect visit! Still used our time well there. Plenty of parking and perfect to downtown areas!
Their spring plantings were spectaculer- mass beds of tulips, daffodils, & others. This is comfortably small to see, especially for those who can't walk far (my wife). It also has a nice resturant & gift shop.
White River State Park has a great amount of things to do. Just walking between the different parks or museums along the nicely landscaped paths by the canal or river is enjoyable. Good views of downtown and good views of the river, especially while you walk across the pedestrian only bridge that extends towards the zoo.
