I'm not a big garden fan so the average may be unfair. It's a nice garden but there are many nice gardens if you take the time to notice them. This is one of them.
I love visiting botanical gardens and have been to a bunch throughout the South. This one just can't compare. It was surprisingly not well maintained in all areas, though some were parts were nice. Who would expect in the middle of downtown to find such a place. Go in the spring to see the butterflys (unless you are allergic to bananas). The plant life is a vacation. I can picture a wedding here here or a proposal. It is well landscaped (duh! that is there business).
This is such a beautiful place to go, not the least expensive indoor outdoor gardens in Indianapolis but there is so much to see near by with the zoo right there and the white river pathway around the building it really is a Gem!
I love going to White River when the butterflies are hatching. I could sit there all day just watching them. The tulips are beautiful when they are in bloom also.
Gorgeous any time of the year. We visit the gardens often. During the spring and summer months butterflies and moths abound in the green house. knowledgeable and friendly staff. this is a great place to walk around, it gives you a new look on Indy. rent a bike, visit the zoo, see the museums.
