Very peaceful and special to be in with orchids and staghorn ferns and all kinds of tropical plants and have butterflies flit around you and occasionally land on you. The grounds are pretty for events too.

If you're visiting the Indy Zoo, you have to make time to explore the White River Gardens. This lush oasis is such a lovely place to spend an hour or two. Their themed gardens are so well-kept! My favorite is the Sunken Garden, since you don't see many of those anymore. Be sure to check out the gift shop for... More

The gardens here are incredible! Defiantly worth the money! You get admission to the Zoo as well as the gardens for less that $20.

A lovely way to spend a lazy afternoon, casually walking about, enjoying nice weather and beautiful surroundings. Considering it was late Sept. when we went, the garden still looked lovely and very well maintained. Loved the small animal sculptures and the water gardens were inspiring!

Came here for an art auction, and we were allowed to visit the gardens. Truly amazing the varieties of plants, etc. Should be a must for Indy visitors.

We enjoyed walking around the zoo with our two year. They do a nice job with the exhibits. The playgrounds are nice too, and I was especially impressed that they had a one playground designed specifically for toddlers and early childhood (now, if they will just train their personnel to dissuade the dominating 8-10 year olds who invade it occasionally).... I first visited White River Garden shortly after it opened. Since then it has matured and the gardens have come into their own. The visit starts with a small visitor center that has an attached greenhouse. There was a butterfly exhibit when I was there. The glass house is small, but nice. The real attraction is outside. The gardens are... More

We always enjoy a walk through the gardens, especially in the spring when the tulips are blooming. We also love the butterflies.

Generally, I am so happy visiting the Gardens. This trip, not so much. First off, could not take the stroller into the Butterfly exhibit in the Conservatory. Realize because it is tight there but it was not easy carrying the grandson. Then, without it in the gardens was a real pain. Come to find out later that we could have... More

This was a hidden gem, located right next to the zoo. Beautiful plants and flowers in both indoor and outdoor settings. Lovely orchids. A great place for an afternoon stroll
