I have been to this park on multiple occasions. It is a very nice park with limited access to certain areas. They have horseback riding, a museum and lots of common areas and a large pond with a trail around it. The area is nice in the summertime and gets congested on the weekends. During the fall and winter time... More

I go for the excellent hiking and walking trails. Many come to bike, sled, and horse back ride too. This park is easy to access and beautifully maintained. If you plan to make frequent visits, buy an Indiana State Park Pass (it's $50 this year); otherwise, you'll pay $7 per visit (entering by car).

What a great place to hike and bike. This skatepark is mostly flat trails and lots of historical info at the museum area. There are plenty of bike lanes and fishing is allowed with permits.

This state park is located very close to everything in the Indianapolis area. The cost to enter is minimal and you can buy a year long pass that get's you into any state park. There are numerous trails for hiking and cycling. There is horse back riding.. There are plenty of bathrooms located throughout the park too. This is great... More

Looking for a huge, open field of grass for the kids to play on? The old parade ground at the park is the place for it. Not many ammenities, but your kite will NEVER get caught in a tree! Hear there's a new live theater, but don't know much about it yet.

Although we truly appreciate the review, the parade grounds you mention are not in Fort Harrison State Park. They are in a private housing addition named Lawton Loop which is part of the City of Lawrence, Indiana. The theater you mention is also not in Fort Harrison State Park. It is at Post Road and Otis Avenue, also a part... More

Though they have some nice natural trails we often ride our bikes here using the fall creek trail that branches off the monan. It's a great park to ride around, refill your water bottles and use the facilities if needed.

Whether you go for lunch, Friday or Saturday dinner, or Sunday brunch, the food is very good. It totally reminds you of home made, not store bought. It is well seasoned and really tasty. It is hard not to over eat. On a personal note, I consider myself an iced tea snob, and they have really good fresh brewed iced... More

Beautiful park. Nice trails. Very peaceful. Bring bug spray in the summer months. Watch for bike traffic on trail routes as many of the paths have sharp turns that don't allow for much room to maneuver.

Actually, the only state park in Marion Co. That said, it's a very nice park, just not great like Turkey Run or Cliffty Falls. But is is a great piece of nature to have as part of the city.
