We thoroughly enjoyed the diverse exhibits of this exceptional Museum. We were visiting INDY for a National Cheereleading competition and stayed an extra day. Found out the Museum was open on Martin Luther King Day. The Imax theater experience on the Hubble Space Telescope was exceptional. My wife even raved of the chicken salad she had in the Museum Cafe.... More

It was our first trip to iMax theater. The screen --and sound are both fantastic. We Saw Star Wars. It's not in 3D. Seats in back are best. Parking free in garage as long as you show your movie ticket.

I like to eat at the tea room. It was closed today but some of the classic foods from the tea room were still available from the deli next door. Staff was swarmed today for free admission with a canned good during MLK day but staff handled the crowd with a smile. Enjoyed the IMAX movie which will be closed... More

I am a native of NJ but have lived in Indiana for half of my life. This was my first trip to the State Museum and I found it only fair. Yes, there is plenty of historical information including a ground floor exhibit about all the rocks and fossils associated with the physical formation of Indiana land. That was neatly... More

Spend some time at the Indiana State Museum and you will learn so much about the Crossroads of America! The first floor has an extensive exhibit on the formation of the continents and their relation to where Indiana is now - there are lots of rocks to look at, big and small. Interactive exhibits on geology, earthquakes are fun. The... More

I was very pleasantly surprised by the exhibits of days gone by. Great photographs depicting decades of history, artifacts and paintings by Hoosiers. We arrived too late to see everything. But we did catch a ride on the little red train, a replica of the one at former LS Ayres train, treasured by those who grew up in the 20th... More

This is the best place to see movies. The musuem is beautiful when decorated for Christmas. The tree with ornaments from all the counties is a favorite of ours.

Everything from the ice age, to the human body, to agriculture, to the future of Indiana! This covers all aspects of Indiana history, and there is a little something for everybody. I would highly recommend this place, and allow yourself a good three hours to walk through it.

We visited the museum with the kids over break. It was really nice to have an educational, fun place to visit, considering the winter weather. It is centrally located and has underground parking available.
