I'm giving this 5 stars because even though I found parts of it very boring, others will not. The amateur geologist in me went only for the rocks that can be found there and I wasn't disappointed! There were other displays that I found interesting as well but others, not so much. It sits in a beautiful building (with an... More

To be fair, I had only 1 hour to run through here. But it seemed like the popular culture exhibit was very disjointed. It wasn't chronological, which is OK, but it seemed to skip between topics a lot. There were old TVs there, then kitchen implements, then racial history exhibits and Indiana limestone. I like these things, but it seemed... More

Nice museum. Had a lot of construction on new exhibits and they were getting ready for the holidays. IMAX movie about the Galápagos Islands was cool. 2nd floor was my favorite with some pop culture items and info about celebrities from Indiana. Also since we went on Veterans Day they had a special exhibit for the veterans. We enjoyed that... More

We reserved a table to have tea for our female relatives in honor of my nieces wedding and it was fabulous! The room was beautiful, the food great and the staff was so friendly and helpful. They helped make it a wonderful event. Easy to work with reservations as well!

Attended a professional event while attending a conference. They kept the exhibits open for the first 90 minutes which enabled us to learn about the many mastodons found in Indiana. The catered dinner was quite good- the floor was large enough for dancing- we were a party of 350. Saw the Richard Petty movie in the IMAX theater which was... More

The museum is located in the heart of downtown and is right on the canal! This place is neat, and has IMAX attached to it so there is something for everyone. Worth checking out if you are in the area!

The Indiana State Museum is a beautiful building, and within it is a state of the art IMAX Theater. We went to see the Galapagos Islands and when we were leaving we saw that we could see a double feature for only $5 more, we could see the next showing of the underwater movie. Really is a neat place to... More

We spent a few hours at the Indiana State Museum last weekend. Very nice large museum with a lot of interesting information about Indiana. We learned a lot! We also enjoyed the IMAX movie on Galapagos - it was great! The Special Exhibit - "Quilts of Indiana's Present & Past" was great! Definitely worth seeing & you can walk along... More
