Lovely park with lots to offer. Trails, horseback riding, swimming, fishing, a nature center, playgrounds, and more.

Eagle Creek Park is one of the largest city parks in America. Numerous picnic shelters and playgrounds, as well as dozens of small picnic sites dot this 5300 acre forested reservoir area. You can drive or bike the meandering roads, hike or run the hilly trails, experience the two nature centers, swim, fish, rent boats in season, bird watch or--"Go... More

Let's start here; if it wasn't for Eagle Creek, I'd move out of the area. Period. This is a remarkable park for a naturalist, a family, or someone who just needs some exercise in a natural area. The birding is spectacular in early-mid May. There are a lot of things to do in the park. The down side is that... More

We have only been during the cooler months and love that it's an oasis in the city. Beautiful landscapes! The ornothology (bird) center is super fun. Bring your own binoculars if you are going on a day that the center is closed and you can see lots of birds on the water from a nearby overlook. Otherwise, the center has... More

A piece of forest and lakes just a little way from downtown. It is so close to US 65 that one can take a quick hike on one of the many trails and be back on the highway in no time at all. If you are a birder, it is a MUST STOP.

The park is easy to drive through or walk and hike. There is always animals to see and watch in fascination as they look for food. The park is large in size and the price is really cheap to enter. Fun for all ages!!

Eagle Creek Park is a nice area to relax, hike, bird watching, biking, you name it. So close to Indianapolis it gives you a chance to escape the busy city life. You can probably enjoy it any time of the year but fall seems to be the best season with all the colored leaves. The Ornithology Center is worth a... More
