It's amazing how close you can be to the city and still find hours of really great outdoor adventures. Eagle Creek is an easy drive from downtown Indianapolis, and has a lot to do. Running, biking and hiking are popular here and with all the shade and tree coverage even a hot day can feel just a little cooler here.... More

Eagle Creek Park is just on the edge of Indianapolis. It has great hiking trails, nature centers, zip lines and other adventure-type activities, swimming and boating, and great beauty.

Loved visiting this beautiful park. Was so impressed with their swimming area. We visited for a triathalon, and this was a great place for beginners.

It is much larger than you would expect of a city park - it is more on the scale of a small state park. Miles and miles of walking/hiking trails, a boat dock, and even rowing facilities. I got an annual pass so I could go back again, and again.

The park has a lot of activities available from swimming at a beach to inflatables that kids and adults can bounce around on the water, and kayaking, canoeing, sailing, paddle boarding, hiking, and such. There are places to picnic and play as couples or family. There is a cost and it is more if you are not a resident of... More

Love this park! Great trails for walking or running. Getting outdoors here is especially nice since it is tucked away from the city/suburbia areas. The lake is especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset.

This year we were able to get by the beach for the picnic. There are new slides, monkey bars for the kids to play on. They can swim and climb on a big inflatable slide. It was very hot this year with a light breeze off the water....

My sister and her kiddies were visiting Indy (2 boys 7 and 11, at the time) and we wanted something outdoorsy they could spend hours enjoying, where we didn't have to keep forking over money every 20 minutes and where they could essentially keep themselves entertained. The beach area was PERFECT for this. We brought a picnic lunch and some... More

We went kayaking and had a great time. Clean friendly fun. Beautiful. We stopped at the ornithology center as well. It was well worth it. There was so much to offer we did not have enough time to do it.
