A beautiful example of Indiana Limestone at its finest. This building is fun to tour, with good finds on every floor. Don't miss the tunnels under the city that lead back to Circle Center Mall.

Great place to see and informative in seeing how our state is making a difference in laws. Tours are available for schools. A must see while driving downtown or walking.

We were fortunate to have State Treasurer, Richard Mourdock, provide us with a tour of the Indiana State Capitol Building and tell us many historical details about the building and various rooms. It is a beautiful facility and one which Indiana should be extremely proud.

We unknowingly walked in through the basement entrance and were horrified at first, bahahah. Upon further investigation, we realized it wasn't the main entrance and took the elevator to the ground floor.... Just wow. And the best part?! No sales tax on the snacks they sell since it's a government building! Lol.

I am impressed by the beauty of the monuments and historical buildings in the area. The state capital is another example of that. The historical information is another bonus to visiting this site.

You can hardly go wrong touring most of our nation's capitols, but this one is literally breathtaking. The centerpiece is a four-story open atrium under the central dome, with stained glass. There are two "wings" oriented north/south, and each of these is a rectangular atrium open to skylights on the roof. The building is very much in daily use, housing... More

We’re life-long Hoosiers and have intended to visit our statehouse since it’s interior restoration in the 1980s. Somehow that never happened until we stopped on a Wednesday before Christmas to see the new decorating scheme. It is an impressive, stately building and well-maintained. The atrium is open to skylights above the third floor, giving an open, spacious feel. Guided and... More

Stopped in to poke around while we were in Indy. Pretty amazing building inside. A very nice woman stopped to ask if we had any questions or if we'd care to do a tour. While we chose not to do a formal tour, we enjoyed exploring while listening to the sounds of an ongoing Christmas concert.
