Stopped in to poke around while we were in Indy. Pretty amazing building inside. A very nice woman stopped to ask if we had any questions or if we'd care to do a tour. While we chose not to do a formal tour, we enjoyed exploring while listening to the sounds of an ongoing Christmas concert.

Everyone should visit their State Capitol. All Hoosiers should visit their State Capitol. It is beautiful, much to see and really not bad for a State Capital located in a state formed after the original 13 Colony States. Hurry in for business or pleasure. You will not be disappointed . Great Capitol in a beautiful Midwest city.

Most capitol buildings around the USA are amazing, built when such structures were grand showcases of architecture, and Indiana's is among the best. I joined a guide named Jim (an older, very kind and knowledgeable man) who was leading a group of about ten on October 30th, 2014. Jim was a font of information about state history, the building itself... More

My husband and I love to visit state capitol buildings, so we were in Indy last week, we decided to add this to our to-do list. You enter via the east or west sides and are met by a security team who checks your bags....then after a series of turns, there is an elevator to the main floor with the... More

After visiting the historical society I went to the Indiana State Capitol just a few blocks away. I entered on the West side basement level, you have to go through a security screening and then I got lost in the basement. With no stairwells in sight, I finally just took an elevator up to the main level. There is a... More

Walk right in ( through security) to view this beautifully restored building ( oh the floors, the chandeliers, sconces, wall stencilling and center rotunda with its beautifully intricate stained glass). Housed are state offices ( with open door policies so you can view the interior also)... And check out Harley the hog and pose for a photo or two. tours... More
