This is easily one of the Indy's best kept secrets as other attractions might gather more visitors, but you're shortchanging yourself if you decide to skip out on a show the IRT has to offer. I've been attending plays/musicals at the IRT for over 5 years and have LOVED every one. The acting is stellar and the content of the... More

This is one of the best deals in town. For very little money you can see live theater. There are no bad seats in the house. I have to honest, I am and have been a season subscriber for many years. Over the years, there have been very few shows that were not really good. Several are even incredible. The... More

Visitors to Indianapolis should check out irtlive.com and buy a ticket if one is available. Performances are always captivating, seating intimate, displays along the halls very interesting, and drinks, coffee, cookies, and truffles offer just right refreshment. Locals know the two stages for the dramatic arts, and performances by Dance Kaleidescope often use the upper stage. Within the IRT is... More

Early 1900 completely restored small theater hosting dramas and events in downtown Indy. Not a bad seat in the entire place. Creative and innovative plays including many one actor plays often performed in the intimate "upper stage." Great entertainment choice if you are visiting for a weekend. I have been a season member for more than 20 years, so you... More

I saw "On Golden Pond". A delightful show. The place was clean and charming, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the show was lovely. It was a wonderful way to spend an evening.

SOOOO glad I took the leap and booked a play in advance for us to see during our stay in Indianapolis. The theater is BEAUTIFULLY restored, the staff/volunteers are warm, welcoming and informal, and the production was just top-notch! Such a treat. We even got to take our wine inside for the pre-performance chat. We happened to see On Golden... More

I had never attended a play although the idea of live theater was always interesting to me. I won tickets to The Hound of the Baskervilles for me and several of my friends through a local competition. I didn't know what to expect, from dress code to intermission I was clueless. I contacted IRT to ask some questions and received... More

We recently visited the IRT for "Sherlock Holmes: The Hound of the Baskervilles," and once again, they've surprised us! I was anxious to see how they'd pull this one off with any special effects with "the hound," and they did it! The actors, sets, and costumes are always amazing, and they even managed to throw in an Easter egg for... More

The play "What I Learned in Paris" was one of the most enjoyable plays I've seen in some time. The setting is retro 1973 Atlanta in the evening after the first black Mayor gets elected to office. This play isn't about race but more about relationships. Fun and witty, lady take charge, pull on your heart strings, identify with the... More

This is my favorite theater! It is a great place to catch a classic play for a reasonable price. It is an intimate environment and is located conveniently in the heart of downtown. They offer valet parking, but we usually park at the Washington Street mall parking garage just east of the theater. It is very reasonable - usually less... More
