This place has gone down hill since when it first opened. Unless you really have a gambling habit, pass on this one.

If you like casinos, this venue has 2 casinos to choose from. Some people swear by Majestic Star while others prefer Majestic Star II. I am not a big gambler but I've had fun at both. If you try the restaurant or buffet you are looking out over Lake Michigan's southern tip and its industrial core. The food at the... More

I agree with other reviewers that the casino and hotel could use an update. I want to be clear that I am pretty picky with my food. We stopped by the buffet for breakfast, first there were many choices, the biscuits and gravy are pretty good, I like mine HOTTER but I assume its a safe temp. At the far... More

Stopped at the Majestic Star II casino boat in Gary yesterday and it will be the last time that I step on that boat. I have visited many casinos in many states, and I can say without any doubt that this casino is the dirtiest environment that I have ever experienced in a casino. The carpets were so dirty that... Ever since Don Barden the owner passed it seems like no one really cares, and the quality of everything is in decline from gambling, food, cleanliness, security etc.

The whole place looks and feels dirty. There is no ambiance. The table limits are high for where it is and there is absolutely nothing else in the area. The restaurant choices are limited and the buffet is pricey for the mediocre food. We went there so my husband could play in a poker tournament which was very poorly run.... More

I visit the Majestic Star Casino quite often. On each day of the week they offer different ways to win promo cash. Also on some months someone can win a new car. The Casino consist of several places to eat. The Majestic also has a Hotel. Several shuttles are used to pick up people from the surrounding cities. Gifts are... More

The casino is very dirty. The video poker machines are old especially on the Majestic Star 1 side. One could break their hand trying to push the buttons. Some buttons do not lock in the cards and every so often, one will lose a good hand because of it. The machines are very tight especially on the progressive machines on... More

This is my first and last visit to Majestic Star's buffet. The food selection is limited, especially for a vegetarian, and the salad bar is weak. The salad green mix severed was awful! The staff was very pleasant and attentive.

I've been to several casinos in Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. Despite the negative reviews, I like this one best. I can only comment on the slots and buffet. I haven't played table games or stayed in the hotel. We have had more slot hits at this boat than any others. We also move around until we find one that's paying...we... More
