Had a couple hours of down town in Fort Wayne, so my 18 year old and I stopped at the zoo. Laid out very well. Easy walking distance between animal enclosures. Lots of places to get a cool drink on a hot day. They were adding on a "barrier reef" building when we were there. We did get to see... More

We have a membership at the Detroit Zoo which we like a lot, have been to the Toledo Zoo several times and on our way to Indianapolis we stopped at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo. This zoo is so well laid out and largely shaded which is really nice with little ones.

I'll be honest, I read all the great press about this place, but didn't have high expectations since it's not in a major city. We are from Chicago and have 2 zoos near us. We have also been to the Cleveland and Akron zoos. HOWEVER, I would make the drive from Chicago to take my kids to this zoo again... More

Visited the Zoo with my 3 1/2 year old grandson. What a wonderful experience! We chose to visit on a Sunday and the Zoo was quite crowded which tells me that it is a very popular site in Fort Wayne. The grounds are clean and well maintained. There were frequent sites to purchase refreshments, and the prices were reasonable. This... More

This is a great zoo that is updated frequently. It has sky ride, boat ride, carousel, and train. Lots of animals and lots of places to eat.If you live nearby, I recommend buying the year pass. It gets you in all year, gives you discounts, free stroller rental, and special events. Make sure to bring sunscreen, it is expensive at... More

The name of this zoo is misleading - it's definitely for the whole family. It has a very good selection of animals. We enjoyed walking through this zoo. Things that made it special included the sea lion show, the log ride in the river, the pony rides and the carousel in the Indonesian area.

A nice place to visit with a large variety of animals. You can cover the whole zoo in about two hours. One of the best exhibits is the giraffe area. If you want, you can pay $1 for a token that you exchange for a leaf of lettuce and the giraffes will eat out of your hand.

Living in Fort Wayne, we have spent a lot of time at the zoo. It was a favorite of my daughter when she was younger. We used to buy the annual pass and stop in whenever we had a free hour or two. Whether you live here, or are just visiting, the FW Children's Zoo is a great place! Lots... More
