The grounds were well kept. The fort was not open to public but you get the general idea of went on there. We walked the trails surrounding the fort and had a great, safe nature walk.

We had no idea that Fort Wayne, IN was such an historic area. It was fun learning....especially at the fort. We hit a good weekend as there were people in period costume doing what life at the fort was like in 1754-1763 during the time of Chief Pontiac's Rebellion when it was burned to the ground. I really felt sorry... More

We were pleasantly surprised upon stopping at this site and exploring the history through these folks dressed in period costumes, etc.

We love historic stuff so worked hard to figure out parking and how to get to the historic fort. The area is kept up but no signage is in place to explain the site, buildings, or history of the area. It has so much potential but just seems to be unimportant in the overall scheme of the city, which is... More

We were driving through Fort Wayne Downtown, and noticed people dressed up in old times costumes - just by accident. As we were looking to see something interesting while in Fort Wayne, we just stopped right away, parked the car and went looking for the park where everything was happening. We were very pleased to find an interesting place like... More

I still remember the glory days back when I was in grade school where we would go for a visit and see all of the people dressed up in their outfits doing day to day chores at the fort. Those days are past, but the fort still has events on occasion. If you are ever around when one of those... More

Unfortunately the Fort isn't open daily, but during their event weekends they really put on a show! We visited during the 200th anniversary of the siege of the Fort. Re-enactors, demonstrators, soldiers, townspeople, battles—it was truly incredible! Can't wait to catch some more events this year.

I love taking my 3 year old down here for all the different activities that they have going on. IT is never the same and it is free which is great too. My son loves going to the fort and playing soliders and see the way life was.

Great place for learning about our area's local history from the frontier era, and what life was like during the 19th c. for the pioneers. Educational and entertaining.
