The Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory is a gem in Fort Wayne. We've been here several times and have found and enjoyed different exhibits each time. Once when our son was four years old, there was a large "pirate ship" in the middle of the first garden! Another time, there were live butterflies. Most recently, we visited last week (August 2015). We... More

Nice small botanical. It was mostly plants that were familiar. There were some nice things for kids, like a talking tree as you enter. Gift shop was very nice and priced well. Highlight was the rainforest area with an indoor water fall. There were places to sit in various locations both inside and out.

Today the Conservatory had the Egyptian Pleasure Garden, Desert and Tropical Rain Forest open for visitors along with the Terrace Garden, Exploration Garden, and various children's hands on exhibits. Our favorite, by far, was the Rain Forest with the waterfalls, stream, and lush foliage. Each area is temperature and humidity controlled for the plants so be prepared for high humidy... More

Been here several times and never disappointed. Whether there for the beautiful butterfly exhibit, Christmas and Easter celebration, or just plain visit...never were we disappointed. It is very clean and so much to see. Lots of "hands-on" things for all ages to enjoy. Numerous rooms, beautiful fountains and flowers and plants. There is a very nice outside walk around. Gift... Not too happy that they charged a wedding party of 6 including myself for 3 mins for shooting. Plus they had areas blocked off that we would of used. Had we known that the area we wanted to shoot at was block off we would of NEVER came in! Plus, DO NOT park nearby unless you use a parking garage.... More

The Conservatory is conveniently located right in the heart of downtown and offers an oasis from whatever brought you to that part of town. It is small by some standards but is definitely first-class. The smaller space doesn't allow the variety of plants you might find elsewhere but there were several varieties we hadn't seen elsewhere. The displays are well... More

There are several areas for plants of different habitats and climates. It is a great place for pictures with beautiful backdrops and natural lighting. Not sure if I would pay just to get pictures though. I like flowers, but my family isn't really into them, so they got bored easily and quickly.

We went to see flowers and the butterflies. The butterfly tent was really neat, but we were disappointed in the lack of unique varieties of flowers blooming. The outdoor exhibits were not that impressive other than some of the sculptures and architecture.

It is still beautiful! Volunteers take such good care of everything here. It is always in excellent shape, with seasonal displays. Visit during 3 Rivers Festival, but watch out for weddings! We held our wedding reception here in June of 1986, and it was the perfect place for nature lovers in my family. Everyone had a good time in the... More
