A surprisingly expansive presentation of items covering a wide range of eras. And, unlike many art museums, there were no restrictions on photography!

Stop by the Indiana University Art Museum for a great collection in a perfect historical chronology. It's exhibits are manageable and well thought out.

I lived in this area for 6 years, and am a big believer in seeing your own city as well as in travels and while vacationing. This university is truly under-rated, and the word just isn't out about their arts division. Stop in here and you will be surprised at the beautiful contributions from students, community and staff as well.

The African art was so worth the trip to B-Town. Parking is horrible anywhere on campus and is not clearly marked... be prepared to pay $150 for a parking ticket if you don't park in the correct areas! The gift shop is a shopping experience in and of itself! Overall, a premier art venue.

There are no 90 degree angles in the entire place! This is a great FREE attraction to visit while on the beautiful IU campus. Don't forget to stop by the gift shop to pick up a unique gift before heading home!

The building and the exhibits are interesting enough, nothing really special and the layouts and focus of areas is unusual. It is hard to see a clear vision that any given area was going for in the actual art displays. Overall eclectic collection and I have been to many other more interesting and enjoyable art museums here in Indiana. If... More

The building was designed by IM Pei, and it looks good from the outside. However, the exhibits do not take advantage of the interesting interior spaces. As for the art, there are a few great works by great artists (Stuart Davis), and some cool (albeit small) collections (modern Japanese ceramics). There's no apparent focus to the collection. It's a good... More

In the class of COLLEGE art museums, this is pretty good, and extensive. Does compare to the art museum in Indianapolis but it is excellent for the purpose it serves. I spent about 3-4 hours there. Alone. Really enjoyed it. It was free and had convenient free parking. Everyone I talked to were all friendly and helpful.

Good variety of art displayed well. There is also a nice little gift shop worth checking out. Advertising of exhibits was misleading, though.
