Love to go to St James for a trail run or to walk my dogs. Also great for snow shoeing or xc skiing in the winter. The buildings are neat to look at. Lots of photographers use it for prof. photo shoots. I'm looking forward to the new trails opening in May. Hopefully some of the turf trails will be... More

I was interested in this location based on the fact that it's a horse farm. Unfortunately there were no horses on the property today. The forest preserve is currently under construction. Once owned by his father, Chauncey McCormick was the great-nephew of Cyrus McCormick, the man who developed the mechanical reaper. (The company later merged with Deering Harvester and became the famous International Harvester Company.) Brooks cousin was Robert McCormick who... More

This is one of the newest additions to DuPage Forest Preserve properties. It was kept in excellent condition previously as a privately owned horse farm and the Forest Preserve is investing a lot in improving the structures and facilities to handle the larger public crowds that will be using the facility. A brand new entrance from Winfield Road is already... More
