I have been to Mermet Springs for all of my dive training, from open water to advanced to specialties. I am currently working toward my Divemaster certification, and I am excited to complete my open water dives for that certification at Mermet. Mermet is a cutting-edge dive site in the Midwest, and offers a dive experience unlike no other. Located... More

The staff's main mission is to make your visit safe and enjoyable. The quarry is spring fed and has great visibility. There are plenty of underwater attractions to see. School bus, fire truck, 737, ambulance, and many more things. They are linked together with lines to show you where to swim. Depth ranges from 6' to 100'. Giant spoonbills can... More

This dive spot is family friendly. Owners are extremely nice and will work with you to make your stay enjoyable. The location has the usual things underwater to look at boats, trucks, school bus etc. Their claim to fame is a big "737 jet" that was used in U S Marshall movie. The wings are cut off but main body... More

Visited again Labor Day weekend, 2011. First time was August 2010. Both weekends were certification dives. Great site. Lots to see if you're not "working." Would dive there again in a heartbeat. Really like the place. If I can't do blue water, it's the next best thing. More

The staff here is top-notch. I received my training here and have always felt like a part of a huge diving family each time I visit. The quarry itself is choked- full of cool things to explore and the seeing the "famous" spoonbills are always a treat. More

This is a great dive site in Southern Ilinois. Staff is super helpful and friendly and keep an emphasis on safety. Large quarry which is spring fed. Lots of sunken items to dive over such as boats, motorcycles, school bus and 747 from the movie "U.S. Marshalls". Water a bit cool so bring 7 mil. Reasonable rental, fill and entry... More
