This is an arboretum that started as a nursery when I was young. It is now a beautiful arboretum with hundreds of trees that don't really belong in our climate. The flower gardens, arbors, children's area, Koi pond, education building just to mention a few are reasons to visit once. After that you will come back and back and back.... More

A quiet and peaceful place to walk in the middle of Rockford, a neglected and sad looking city. Beautiful green lawns and wooded paths,

Lovely setting and beautiful walk. Very quiet when we visited (11.00am on a sunny September morning), but thought there would be more there. Also, would be really good if coffee, tea house available?

We enjoyed our morning walking thru the gardens. The facility is beautiful and we spent hours exploring the wooded trails. They have some great "yard art" throughout the gardens. We will return again!

This is a beautiful park where you can walk around two different loops and enjoy the various shrubs and trees as well as wildflowers. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed walking through this arboretum, which is actually an old nursery turned into an arboretum. We were thrilled with how well the plants and trees were identified. My husband's favorite garden was the hosta garden. There is a new wildflower garden that is beautiful in the Spring, There were lots of flowering trees. The Gift Shop is nice, too.

I am rating this a four because we have been there before when everything is blooming, this time of the year it is not. We took my mother in law there for Mother's day because she loves flowers. The grounds itself is very large so make sure everyone in your party is ready for a day of beauty and exercise.... More

Klehm Gardens is a gem of a place to spend a beautiful summer or fall day, away from all the hubbub of daily life. Of particular interest, and setting it apart from most public gardens, is the history of the property. From its beginnings as a local family-owned nursery, the property still contains many of the original trees that were... More

If you enjoy walking in nature, Klehm is a great destination! I go several times per year and the seasonal changes are wonderful to see. They have great events that draw the public as well. There is a special children's garden with play area and a great maze for slightly older kids. I'm particularly glad they are open year round.
